  2. WHAT IS TECHNOLOGY ?

  3. Definition of Technological Progress The history of technological progress and the nature of its upward motion can be traced along the progress of human culture. Work, travel, arts and economy all change and improve due to the increased efficiency of tools, which started with things such as stone tools, clothing and the wheel.

  4. Importance of technology:- Technology is important because:- • We don’t have to take assumptions we can claim our tests. • Horrible diseases can be cured. • Technology only shortens the distance • It saves the lives. • Whenever a problem is solved another one arises so Technology will never go obsolete.

  5. Positive view on Technology :- • Enables the large cities for creation. • We get to know about the world around us. • As the technology has matured the cost dropped and they become affordable. • Less work has been for humans now days.

  6. Cont…. • More effectiveness for doing anything. • The invention of wheel helped human in • travelling. • Telephones and internet have lessened the physical barriers. • Technology also helped to develop more advanced economies.

  7. NeGATIVE view on Technology :- • Human being become lazy due to technology. • Many people have lost their job due to technology. • Our youth keep on playing games / SMS / mailing and social Networking sites in internet. • Hacker are hacking the accounts. • Youth are using wrong sites and spoiling their carrier.

  8. Impact on human relationship Merits And Demerits

  9. Positive impact- • The permanence of email addresses, cell phone numbers and connections on social networks makes it easy to stay in touch with people in our mobile society. • Many Social site make it easy to find lost friends • In an age where technology surrounds and influences humanity one must consider whether technology is changing how we think, feel and act. • Technology has its good impact on human relationship because it is easy to use instead of writing a letter to your friend and waiting a couple of days to get it to her you could text someone and they will receive it in less than 2 seconds!

  10. Negative Impact • Instead of bonding together as a family for the weekend, everyone was more interested in connecting to their technical devices, such as a cell phone • one bad effect of technology on life is that with more technology • placing barriers between people, face to face meetings happen less.

  11. Continue… • Now a days, there are so many devices and ways to interact with people so that human being prefer to use that ways to interact . • When new technology occure in business then they create conflict in business relationship.

  12. Impact on the natural environment :- • GLOBAL WARMING • MARINE ECOSYSTEM • ACID RAIN

  13. GLOBAL WARMING:- Global warming is a process caused by the Greenhouse Effect which is caused by the increase in greenhouse gases. These gases stay in the atmosphere for many years and eventually cause extreme damage to our planet.

  14. Causes of global warming • Burning of fossil fuels – coal , petroleum products , gaseous fuels, wood etc. • Deforestation – plant use co2 and release o2 therefore cutting down the forest. • Population explosion – due to much increased population, there is greater relase of co2 in atmosphere. • Release of green house gases – co2 mathene (ch4),nitrus oxide(no),so2.

  15. Effect of global warming • The average temperature of earth will be increasing above normal temperature & heat the atmosphere. • The existing eco-system will be emblanced. • The excess of co2 in atmosphere. • There may be more storms of sever intensity.

  16. Control of global warming • Technology should be devloped to prevent release of green house gases in to atmosphere. • A forestation and reforestation should be uner taken at large scale. • Use should be made of renewable energy sources such as wind, solar , nuclear (sustainable), biomass. • Refrigerator (CFC),spray cans (Aerosole)and air-conditioners should be used for limited durations.

  17. Marine Ecosystems:- Marine ecosystems are very important in to the overall health of both marine and terrestrial environments. According to the World Resources Centre, coastal habitats alone account for approximately 1/3 of all marine biological productivity, and estuarine ecosystems (i.e., salt marshes, sea grasses, mangrove forests) are among the most productive regions on the planet.

  18. Effects on Marine Ecosystem • Pollution-Dumpingof untreated sewage into the oceans pollute it suffocates marine life as non biodegradables like plastic and Styrofoam prevent oxygen from getting dissolved in the water. • Oil spills-Oil, a product that we often use to keep warm, can cause hypothermia in marine animals. For Ex.-A bird's feathers are filled with air spaces that act as insulation and keeps the bird warm. When a bird gets coated with oil, the feathers lose their insulating ability and the bird could die of hypothermia.

  19. ACID RAIN:- Acid rain looks, feels, and tastes just like clean rain. The air pollution that causes acid rain is more damaging to human health. Sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides, the major sources of acid rain, can irritate or even damage our lungs.

  20. Effects of Acid Rain:- • It effect our buildings & monuments (especially those constructed with limestone). • It effects both natural and man-made environments. • Trees leaves and plantations are damage. • The rate of metabolism of organism is altered.

  21. Causes of acid rain • Pollutants emitted by thermal power point and other industries • Pollutants emitted by auto mobiles ,air crafts, ships etc. • Pollutants emitted by acid manufacturing and explosive industries

  22. Thank you for your attention! See The Progress
