California Building a Presence Key Leader Training • PD Modules available*: • Science and Literature • Strategic Science Teaching • Inquiry-based Science Instruction • A Closer Look at Standards *Professional Development Modules are offered to Key Leaders at the annual CSTA conference, and at other regional conferences. Materials are available online at www.cabap.org in the Resources section.

Training Outcomes • Build an awareness of BAP and CABAP. • Gain a better understanding of your role as a Key Leader (KL). • Learn the components of the KL “job.” • Recruiting Points of Contact • Communicating/disseminating • Designing and delivering POC training • Going Beyond . . . • Extend your Professional Development.

Magnetic Words • Look at the words and questions posted around the room. • Choose one that either “attracts” or “repels” you. • Go and stand by that word and discuss with the others: 1) why you chose that word; and, 2) how it impacts science teaching and learning. • Choose a speaker to share the group’s thoughts with the whole group during the debrief.
