  1. Buoqc Zaangc Tin-Hungh Nyei Jauv. The Way of Worshiping God. Yo^han 4:23-24 = John 4:23-24 Sunday/August 28, 2011

  2. 23 Wuov norm ziangh hoc oix taux, zungv taux daaih aqv. Zien-zien buoqc zaangc Zangc Diex wuov deix, oix longc singx lingh yaac longc zien leiz zaangc, weic zuqc Zangc Diex lorz naaiv nyungc mienh zaangc Ninh. 23 Yet a time is coming and has come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.

  3. 24 Tin-Hungh se Singx Lingh. Zaangc Tin-Hungh nyei mienh oix zuqc longc singx lingh caux zien leiz zaangc. 24 God is Spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.

  4. Biux Mengh Waac Introduction Buoqc Zaangc Weic Haaix Diuc Longc Jienv? Why Worship Is Important?

  5. Buoqc zangc longc jienv nyei jauv se weic zuqc mbuo ceng baaix yietc liuz ziangh jienv wuov dauh Tin-Hungh. Weic zuqc ninh zeix mbuo daaih weic fu-sux ninh taaih ninh nduqc dauh hnangv. Worship important, because we worship internal God, who created us to worship Him and to served Him only.

  6. Ging-Sou gorngv heuc mbuo, “Oix Zuqc Ceng ZIOUV oix zuqc ceng ZIOUV. Oix zuqc yiem ninh nyei singx dinc ceng Tin-Hungh, oix zuqc yiem ninh nernh haic nyei lungh ceng ninh. 2 Ceng ninh weic ninh zoux domh qaqv nyei sic. Ceng ninh weic zuqc ninh za'gengh! hlo haic.” (Singx Nzung 150:1-2). The Bible tells us to, “Praise the LORD.Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. 2 Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.” (Psalm 150:1-2).

  7. I. Longc Lingh Wuonh Zangc Tin-Hungh (Worshipping God In Spirit) 1. Longc “lingh wuonh” zangc Tin-Hungh nyei eix-leiz se yiem hnyouv gu’nyuoz zien-zien nyei taaih Ninh, yaac longc longx nyei jauv tongx nimc Ninh, bieqc hnyouv taux mbuo zoux nyei eix-leiz jauv hnangv haaix nor. Worshipping God "in spirit" means with reverence, attentiveness, and having the right purpose of honoring God, while understanding what we are doing.

  8. 2. Hipv^lu 12:28-29 gorngv, “Hnangv naaic, mbuo oix zuqc laengz zingh Tin-Hungh weic zuqc mbuo duqv norm ndanc maiv haih dongz nyei guoqv. Mbuo oix zuqc laengz zingh Tin-Hungh nyei en-zingh yaac zaangc ninh horpc ninh nyei hnyouv, gamh nziex ninh, taaih ninh, 29 weic zuqc mbuo nyei Tin-Hungh se henv haic nyei douz, haih mietc nzengc yietc zungv.” Hebrews 12:28-29 says, "Let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear.  For our God is a consuming fire."

  9. 3. Baaix zangc Tin-Hungh horpc nyei hnyouv, se ndaangc mbuo mingh zoux leiz-baaix nyei ziangh hoc, mbuo oix zuqc zorng-mbenc mbuo nyei hnyouv caux mbuo nyei ga’qiex jauv bun ninh sung lamh nyei, naaiv nyungc jauv se benx horpc nyei jauv. Yiem Singx Nzung 89:7 gorngv, “Se yiem cing-nzengc wuov deix nyei wuic gu'nyuoz ninh mbuo taaih nyei Tin-Hungh. Yiem weih gormx ninh nyei yietc zungv ninh gauh hlo gauh peix fuc jiex.” In order to worship God in the right spirit, we must take time before worship to make ready our hearts and emotions so we will be in the proper frame of mind.  We read in Psalms 89:7, "God is greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and to be held in reverence by all those around Him."

  10. 4. Maiv longc hnyouv buoqc zangc se bun cing mbuo maiv ziepc zuoqv hnyouv, maiv yiem hnyouv zoux cuotv nyei jauv se maiv lamh longc, Tin-Hungh yaac maiv zipv mbuo buoqc zangc Ninh nyei jauv. Yesu gorngv, “Naaiv deix mienh longc nzuih taaih yie, mv baac ninh mbuo nyei hnyouv leih duqv yie go haic.” (Maako 7:6). Jorm hnyouv nyei jauv haih tengx mbuo simv nqoi lueic caux maiv oix nyei jauv. Worship which is insincere, that is not from the heart, is vain, useless, and unacceptable to God.  Jesus says,"This people honors Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me" (Mark 7:6) Active participation will tend to get rid of our lack of interest and laziness.

  11. II. Longc Zien Leiz Zangc Tin-Hungh Nyei Jauv (Worshipping God In Truth) 1. Yesu gorngv yiem Yo^han 4:24, “Tin-Hungh se Singx Lingh. Zaangc Tin-Hungh nyei mienh oix zuqc longc Singx Lingh caux zien leiz zaangc.“ Jesus says in John 4:24, "God is a spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in spirit and in truth."

  12. Mbuo gengh oix zuqc longc zien leiz zangc Tin-Hungh. Weic zuqc Tin-Hungh ganh nyei waac benx zien leiz, mbuo oix zuqc ei jienv Tin-Hungh nyei waac zangc Ninh. Yiem naaiv mbuo buatc Ziouv Yesu mengh-mengh nyei gorngv mbuox mbuo, mbuo oix zuqc zoux nyungc-nyungc dongh Tin-Hungh buatc horpc nyei jauv. Yietc dauh zoux zien, dieh dauh caux jienv zoux zien. Tin-Hungh maiv duqv gorngv maiv mengh mbuox mbuo. We must worship God in truth.  Since His word is truth, we must worship Him according to His word.  Here the Lord is telling us that everything we do in worship, we must have God's divine approval.  Truth for one person is the same as truth for the next.  God has not spoken in unclear ways.

  13.  2. Yiem Ging-Sou Tin-Hungh biux mengh Ninh zipv mienh mbuoqc zangc Ninh nyei jauv oix zuqc benx lengc jeiv nyei jauv. Tin-Hungh maiv zeiz sueih mienh la’guaih ei ninh mbuo nyei hnyouv zoux maiv lamh longc nyei jauv mbuoqc zangc Ninh. God has specified in the Bible the acceptable way He is to be worshipped.  He is not to be worshipped according to the evil and vain imaginations and devices of men.

  14. Haaix nyungc maiv zeiz Ging-Sou hatc mbuo zoux nyei jauv, mbuo maiv horpc zuqc zoux, se gorngv mbuo gengh buoqc zangc Tin-Hungh yiem zien leiz nor. Tin-Hungh maiv zeiz sueih mbuo ei mbuo nyei hnyouv zoux Ninh ziouc zipv. Mbuo maiv haih dorh haaix nyungc daaih diqv dongh Tin-Hungh oix mbuo zoux nyei jauv buoqc zangc Ninh, se gorngv mbuo oix bun Ninh a’hneiv mbuo, yaac oix duqv mingh Tin-Dorngh nor. Whatever that is not commanded in scripture in our worship to God is forbidden if we are to worship God in truth.  God is not obligated to accept our worship just because we offer it to Him.  We dare not substitute what we want for what God has commanded if we want to please Him and go to Heaven.

  15. 3. Maaih mienh camv nyei hnamv daaih yiem mbuo sienx nyei jauv fai buoqc zangc zong zei nyei jauv se maiv longc jienv, danh fanh mbuo ei jienv mbuo nyei hnyouv hnamv cuotv nyei jauv ziepc zuoqv hnyouv zoux duqv aqv. Mv baac se gorngv meih sienx gengh maiv benx haaix nyungc nor, liuz meih yaac sienx nyungc-nyungc zungv maiv benx haaix nyungc aqv. Naaiv nyungc fiem-fingx se taaih mbuo ganh nyei cong-mengh gauh hlaang jiex Tin-Hungh nyei waac. There are many who think it really doesn’t matter what we believe or do in religion, just as long as we are sincere and follow our conscience.  But if it doesn’t really matter what you believe, then it doesn’t matter if you even believe at all. This philosophy exalts our conscience above the word of God.

  16. Naaiv nyungc jauv se kungx zoux bun mbuo nyei hnyouv ngaengc jienv Tin-Hungh gorngv nyei waac yiem Ging-Sou wuov. Naaiv nyungc cong-mengh jiex gorn se yiem baamh mienh daaih, maiv zeiz yiem Tin-Hungh daaih. Naaiv se biux mengh mbuox Tin-Hungh, mbuo buoqc zangc Ninh se ei mbuo oix nyei jauv, mbuo maiv gunv taux haaix nyungc Tin-Hungh gorngv nyei waac. This makes our conscience our only guide and ignores what God says in the Bible.  This philosophy originated with man and not with God.  This is telling God we are going to worship Him the way we choose and we don’t really care what He has to say.

  17. Dauh dauh mienh jiex gorn bangc ninh mbuo ganh nyei hatc lingc, yaac guangc Tin-Hungh nyei hatc lingc yiem Ging-Sou gu’nyuoz nyei waac. Naaiv nyungc juoqc-setv ndongc haaix zungv zoux bun dongh siev maengc weic mbuo wuov dauh hnyouv mun haic. Every man then becomes his own authority thereby eliminating the authority of God, the Bible.  This attitude must greatly hurt the one who gave His life for us.

  18. III. Tin-Hungh Zipv Caux Maiv Zipv Nyei Buoqc Zangc Jauv.(Acceptable And Unacceptable Worship) 1. Tin-Hungh biux mengh bun mbuo hiuv duqv mienh buoqc zangc Ninh nyei jauv, Ninh zipv fai maiv zipv nyei jauv yiem Ging-Sou. Dongh ei jienv Ninh gorngv nyei jauv zoux wuov deix, Ninh a’hneiv, dongh maiv ei jienv Ninh gorngv nyei jauv zoux wuov deix ninh maiv a’hneiv. Tin-Hungh haaix zanc yaac mbuox mienh oix zuqc hnangv haaix nor buoqc zangc Ninh, mv baac mienh ganh maiv oix muangx Ninh gorngv nyei waac. God has shown, in the Bible, His approval with those who follow His will and His displeasure and wrath with those who refuse to worship Him the way He has directed.  God has always been clear about how he is to be worshipped, but man has not listened.

  19. 2. Nyungc zeiv taux Tin-Hungh zipv caux maiv zipv mienh buoqc zangc Ninh nyei jauv yiem Loz-Ngaengc Waac se hnangv Kaa^in Caux Aa^mbaen nyei jauv nor. Kaa^in caux Aa^mbaen i dauh zungv mingh buoqc zangc Tin-Hungh. Aa^mbaen ei jienv Tin-Hungh mbuox nyei jauv zoux, mv baac Kaa^in ei ninh ganh hnamv daaih buatc horpc ninh nyei hnyouv nyei jauv zoux. An example of acceptable and unacceptable worship in the Old Testament is that of Cain and Abel.  Cain and Abel both worshipped God.  Abel did as God directed, but Cain tried to worship God the way he saw fit.

  20. Bun mbuo doqc Tin Deic Douh 4:3-7 “Jiex daaih, maaih hnoi Kaa^in dorh deix ninh nyei ndeic zaangc cuotv nyei ga'naaiv-zuangx daaih fongc horc bun ZIOUV. 4 Aa^mbaen dorh deix yiem ninh nyei ba'gi yungh guanh gu'nyuoz nyei daauh toi dorn caux ba'gi yungh nyei hmei daaih fongc horc. ZIOUV buangv hnyouv Aa^mbaen caux ninh fongc horc nyei ga'naaiv.” Let us read in Genesis 4:3-7, "In the course of time Cain brought some of the fruits of the soil as an offering to the LORD. 4 But Abel brought fat portions from some of the firstborn of his flock. The LORD looked with favor on Abel and his offering.”

  21. 5 Mv baac Kaa^in caux ninh fongc horc nyei ga'naaiv Tin-Hungh maiv buangv hnyouv aqv. Kaa^in ziouc qiex jiez haic. Hmien mapv maengh mapv hmuangx nyei. 6 ZIOUV ziouc gorngv mbuox Kaa^in, "Meih zoux haaix nyungc qiex jiez, hmien ndongc naaic hmuangx? 7 Meih zoux duqv horpc nor, yie buangv hnyouv meih. Laaix meih zoux maiv horpc, zuiz mbaapv jienv wuov gaengh ndaangc oix gunv jienv meih, mv baac meih oix zuqc borngz taux hingh.“ 5 but on Cain and his offering he did not look with favor. So Cain was very angry, and his face was downcast. 6 Then the LORD said to Cain, "Why are you angry? Why is your face downcast? 7 If you do what is right, will you not be accepted? But if you do not do what is right, sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it."

  22. 3. Weic haaix diuc Ziouv taaih Aa^mbaen nyei fongc horc yoc maiv zipv Kaa^in nyei fongc horc? Hipv^lu 11:4 mbuox mbuo, “Weic Aa^mbaen maaih sienx fim, ninh longc ziec bun Tin-Hungh nyei ga'naaiv gauh longx Kaa^in nyei.” Jangx jienv oc, Aa^mbaen longc “sienx fim” fongc horc, mv baac Kaa^in maiv longc. Why did the Lord have respect for Abel’s offering and why did He reject Cain’s offering?  Hebrews 11:4 tells us, "By faith Abel offered to God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain."  Notice Abel offered his sacrifice "by faith" but Cain did not.

  23. Lomaa 10:17 gorngv, “Hnangv naaic, sienx fim se yiem mienh haiz Tin-Hungh nyei waac, weic zuqc ninh mbuo duqv haiz Tin-Hungh nyei waac, ninh mbuo cingx daaih sienx.” Romans 10:17 says, "So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God."  So faith comes by the word of God.  Abel offered his sacrifice by faith or according to the word of God.  If we worship God by faith, we worship as the word of God directs.

  24. Nzutv Nzorz Waac Conclusion: Ih hnoi nyei Ging-Sou mbuox mbuo oix zuqc longc Singx Lingh caux Zien Leiz buoqc zangc Tin-Hungh. Today’s scripture tells us, we must worship God in Spirit and in Truth. Longc singx lingh caux zien leiz zangc Tin-Hungh nyei jauv se beiv taux haaix nyungc jauv? What does it mean to worship God in spirit and in truth? 1. Yiem hnyouv buoqc zangc se (longc singx lingh fai lingh wuonh buoqc zangc. To worship God from the heart ("in spirit" or soul) 2. Ei jienv Ging-Sou Tin-Hungh nyei waac njaaux mbuo buoqc zangc nyei jauv, se mbuo (longc zien leiz zangc). To worship God as He directs in His Word ("and we worship in truth")

  25. 3. Zien Buoqc zangc Tin-Hungh nyei jauv maaih i nyungc. True Worship is characterized by two things: (a) Longc lingh wuonh fai yiem hnyouv gu’nyuoz zoux cuov, ganh joux waac se gorngv longc ziepc zuoqv hnyouv zingx nyei zoux. It is in spirit or from the heart, in other words it is sincere. (b) Longc zien leiz nyei jauv, se ei jienv Tin-Hungh nyei waac mbuox mbuo nyei jauv zoux, se dongh ZIEN LEIZ (Yo^han 17:17). It is in truth, that is it is according to the dictates of the Word of God, which is the TRUTH (John 17:17).
