  2. Qualifications • Extensive leadership experience in the IEEE at Chapter, Section, Region, Society and IEEE levels, including 2015 President of the Microwave Theory and Technology Society, Co-Chair of the IEEE Future Directions 5G Initiative, Chair of the IEEE Internet Inclusion Committee and member of the IEEE Humanitarian and Philanthropic Activities Committee. Been navigating the IEEE “political” landscape since 2014. • Extensive collaborative and communications skills as demonstrated as the IEEE SIGHT Chair to organize and motivate an effective team to promote humanitarian projects led by feet-on-the-ground volunteers across all IEEE geographic Regions. Has strong core values of community building, inclusiveness, diversity, partnerships, and adherence to the highest level of trust/integrity and transparency. • Wide global perspective which will serve as launch point to bring innovations to Region 6 priorities, developed through involvement with IEEE activities across multiple TA Fields of Interest and MGA regions and with external activities for addressing the UN Sustainable Development Goals through the power of the IEEE and Sustainable Development community • I am an excellent team and consensus builder and will use these skills to lead Region 6 and to represent our interests at the MGA Board and the IEEE Board of Directors. • Broad skillsets and experiences in industry and the IEEE that I will apply as Region 6 Director

  3. Position Statement • Our strengths are not just technological, but also found in the spirit and capabilities of our IEEE members. The challenge is to define a new relevance and to inspire members to make a difference for every situation and opportunity. • If elected as Region 6 director elect, I would work to execute the IEEE mission and to build the vision needed for us to remain essential to the global technical community and to technical professionals • Identify challenges and opportunities for each R6 section (large and small) and seek unique solutions to address growth and sustainment. Work with area and section chairs to keep dialog channels open by holding interchange virtual meetings and leveraging best practices • Bring balance in IEEE’s portfolio of product and services to serve both academics and practitioners, to both new entrants and life members, to meet the needs of those working and those seeking jobs and to the underserved members of our local communities, and to strategize national objectives through the IEEE-USA • Create a bi-directional dialog with industry to find value for both parties (employee development, access to practical information, develop technical roadmaps and for sponsorship opportunities) • Mission focus: Building a team to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity

  4. Position Statement • Leverage IEEE programs (Humanitarian Activities, SIGHT, EPICS, Smart Village) to connect Sections to Local Communities in need. Example: Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is advancing rapidly to enable the global internet connectivity - Seek ways to bridge the digital divide for R6 STEM programs • Strengthening Technical Chapters strengthens Sections. Work the TAB societies to bring events to Region 6 by develop a marketing brochure to attract IEEE conferences and to connect them to our Sections. Arrange distinguished lecturer tours across Region 6. • Challenge our members to use their skills and diversity of thought to address real-world problems. Provide support to our students, Young Professionals, LMAG, PACE and WIE through mentorship, engagement and activities at the Section levels Student Branch and Regional levels. • As Director Elect, I plan to articulate a vision for our future by thinking and acting strategically, building on prior successes, communicating persuasively, motivating members to become volunteers, building a diverse team, and above all, empowering others to place common interests first. • Mission focus: Building a team to foster technological innovation and excellence for the benefit of humanity

  5. Building a Brighter Future for IEEE • I would be honored to serve as your Region 6 Director Elect Any Questions?
