Why should I go abroad? • To broaden or deepen your knowledge • It is good for your English proficiency • It is good for your personal development – you get an insight view of another country/environment • As a graduate with a period abroad on your CV you have a better position on the labour market

  4. What am I going to do abroad, where and when? • Studyorinternship? Scholarship programmes • Erasmus+ scholarship • List of BilateralAgreements; see http://www.ru.nl/science/education/international_office/ • 3–12 months in Europeforstudy • 2-12 months in Europeforinternship • For eachcycle up to 12 months: BSc, MSc and PhD • Finances: 270 Euros for “expensive” countries, 210 intermediate countries and 150 for “cheap” countries; internship 120,- extra per month

ISEP: • 6 months in the United States • Consortium of more than 100 American universities • You must have passed the first two years of the BSc programme • Finances: next to Dutch-tuition fee +/- 3500 Euro • Deadline: 8 January 2016 for exchange in 2016-2017/new dates not known yet • TOEFL /IELTS certificate is part of the procedure
