  2. Improvements: Building Relationships • Connections made with students • Link Crew • Addition of advisory period • 8th graders seem happy • Environment feels Calmer • more routine semester 2 • less disruptions

  3. Improvements: Building Relationships • Advisory: More connections have been made • Success Coaches • Met with 152 white students • 137 Latino students • 142 others (Asian/African/etc) • Free admission to athletic events HC/WF week

  4. Improvements: Building Relationships • Integration of SW and HS staff • Feeling welcome as a new staff member • Getting to know my co-workers and administration • Supportive Co-workers • Working well with all staff and students

  5. Improvements: Building Relationships • Celebrations & Food for staff development • Biometric testing - $75 stipend for participation • Unified through Survival

  6. Improvements:Building Relationships • Improved attitude in advisement • Kids are looking forward to coming to advisement • The number of tardies has decreased from semester 1

  7. Improvements: Curriculum and Instruction • English, Math and Science curriculum that aligns with the standards • New class offerings for 8thgrade • Increased opportunity for 8thgrade • 18-21 program at Riverland • Added a Reading Specialist

  9. Improvements: Professional Learning Communities • District Wide PLCs are working • Departmental PLCs - positive feedback • Team members sharing teaching strategies • Vdap process makes sense

  10. Improvements: Integration of Technology • Computers have been working! • Labs more accessible • Integration of I pads into the classrooms • Edwards Manufacturing donated $16,000 in equipment to Industrial Technology • $5000 donated to fund Robotics

  11. Areas to Focus on Change:Procedures • Mix grades between floors • Traveling teachers have same room all day • Consequences for tardies in advisory • New Staff- more guidance: Building handbook for newbies

  12. Areas to Focus on Change:Procedures • Kids in hallway during class: tardy sweep • Lunch detention/ISS Place for kids not to hang out • Better communication about testing

  13. Areas to Focus on ChangeCurriculum • Teachers not teach just one subject • Want multiple teachers teaching same classes/curriculum • Sped Students tagged better for general education teachers • Work toward smaller class sizes
