Possessive Nouns and Pronouns show…. OWNERSHIP. Singular and plural nouns will show ownership in different ways. For Single Nouns: add an apostrophe at the end and follow it with an S. Child ’s. For Plural Nouns that end in S : only add an apostrophe at the end. Friends ’ bikes.

  2. Singular and plural nouns will show ownership in different ways.

  3. For Single Nouns: add an apostrophe at the end and follow it with an S. Child’s

  4. For Plural Nouns that end in S: only add an apostrophe at the end Friends’ bikes

  5. For Plural Nouns that do not end in an S: add an apostrophe at the end followed by an S Children’s

  6. Look at the following phrases and determine how they can be made to show ownership.

  7. The cord of the mouse the mouse’s cord

  8. The branches of the tree the tree’s branches

  9. The taste of the pizza the pizza’s taste

  10. The sculptures found in a museum the museum’s sculptures

  11. The strength of the weight lifter the weightlifter’s strength

  12. The temperature of the oven The oven’s temperature

  13. The ball of the child the child’s ball

  14. The noise from the engines The engines’ noises

  15. Possessive Pronouns are specific and do not always add an S
