When Creativity Awakens The Soulby Michelle Castillo Art is where we least expect it. Art is always at it’s best and has the most impact when discovered in it’s purest form. WHEN CREATIVITY AWAKENS The camera is not just a camera for to me. In this darkness it became my paintbrush to create something out of nothing. The colored indicator lights became tubes of paint and my primary color palette, and the blackness of the morning becomes my canvas. Sitting in the darkness can be compared to sitting in a dark cave transforming my camera into and archeological tool used to unearth what lies quiet and hidden beneath the surface. The darkness became my laboratory and my camera a microscope, magnifying what was once still small lights, alive and with brilliance. Each Photo displayed a unique character, because they each had a signature of its own. Out of 250 plus snapshots, not one of them is identical to the others, which make for a complete series. Some I was able to title right away and you will see why for yourself and other not so apparent what they should be title if at all. ************************************ Most morning I wake at 3:00 am, and spend a few minute just praying, thinking, writing, but on this morning I awoke at 4:00 and spent time thinking about photography and the work I had done so far and how I can find ways to express my own voice. As I laid there for a minute, the indicator lights on my device were very bright, so I reached for my camera to see what I could capture, so here a just a few I thought were the most interesting. I chose the song by Yanni because of it’s Ethereal feel. So enjoy the show!
