  1. Attitude How to Have a Good One Jon Alexander Monsanto – St. Louis, MO May 8, 2013

  2. Attitude is Everything! Happiness is an attitude. We either make ourselves miserable, or happy and strong. The amount of work is the same.(Francesca Reigler)

  3. Success Begins in the mind

  4. Your Attitude is Your Window to the World We are all born with “clean windows”. But during our lives our windows get splattered and out of focus with criticism, ridicule, rejection, etc.

  5. Your Attitude is Your Window to the World You can wash your window and improve your attitude. Your attitude affects the way you see everything in your life! Your dreams come alive again.

  6. Your Attitude is Your Window to the World POSITIVE ATTITUDE “I can” Concentrating on a solution Looking for good in others Counting your blessings Seeing possibilities NEGATIVE ATTITUDE “I can’t” Dwelling on problems Finding fault in others Focusing on what’s missing Seeing limitations

  7. We are Human Magnets We become what we think about. Think good, positive thoughts and good, positive things will happen

  8. We are Human Magnets • Dominant thoughts rule the day! • Think positive all day and it becomes your “dominant” thought pattern • A positive belief system is the starting point for the achievement of any goal • When your dominant belief is that • you can achieve your goal, you begin • taking the actions necessary to • move in that direction

  9. We are Human Magnets • Change your thinking! • Become aware of what you say to yourself all day. “I’m smart” not “I’m stupid” • Find a few minutes in the morning and before you go to sleep to read something positive (spiritual, inspiring biographies, self-improvement material) • Listen to motivational CD’s while driving or exercising

  10. We are Human Magnets • Don’t count on overnight success! • Positive thinking doesn’t mean you will reach your goals overnight or that you will no longer have problems • But believe in yourself, take action • and persist, keep moving in the • direction of your dominant • thoughts and you will overcome • those obstacles

  11. Picture Your Way to Success! • Since childhood we have all developed “mental movies”. We record both good and bad events and feelings associated with those events. But we do have control over • our mental movies and can • alter our interpretation of • these events

  12. Picture Your Way to Success! Surrounded by people who love life, you will love it too; Surrounded by people who don’t, you don’t (Mignon McLaughlin)

  13. Picture Your Way to Success! Be the best you can be no matter what you do!!!!

  14. Watch Your Words!

  15. Your Words Blaze a Trail! Negative words always lead to the reinforcement of negative beliefs and eventually negative outcomes We say negative words each day: I can’t draw I’m not good at math I can’t remember names It’s impossible for me to make that kind of money

  16. How Are You? You have a choice in how to answer that question. By answering in a positive way, you are reinforcing the way you feel. By saying “Terrific” you start feeling terrific! Respond with enthusiasm and eventually you will grow into it. Terrific!

  17. Please Stop Complaining Complainers lack perspective – they tend to blow their problem way out of proportion! Optimistic people…….. people with great attitudes tend to have a sense of what’s truly important in life!

  18. Confront Your Fears and Grow Step outside your comfort zone Your comfort zone contains activities and situations that are non-threatening and familiar. They are routine, part of your everyday life. When faced with something outside of this zone, you become nervous, sweaty, your heart pounds.

  19. Confront Your Fears and Grow Do things you are afraid to do and you develop your potential!! Get out of that box and do something to improve your life

  20. Life’s Little Instructions • Watch a sunrise at least once a year. • Strive for Excellence, not perfection. • Return borrowed vehicles with the gas tank full. • Never waste an opportunity to tell someone you love them. • Leave everything a little better than you found it. • Keep it simple. • Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures. • Become the most positive and enthusiastic person you know. • Be forgiving on yourself and others. • Say “thank you” and “please” a lot. • Avoid negative people. • Commit yourself to constant improvement. • Have a firm handshake. • Look people in the eye. • Be the first to say “hello.” • Make new friends but cherish old ones. • Keep secrets. • Always accept an outstretched hand. • Stop blaming others. • Take responsibility for every area of your life. • Be there when people need you. • Don’t expect life to be fair. • Live your life as an exclamation, not an explanation. • Don’t be afraid to say, “I made a mistake” or “I don’t know.” • Compliment even small improvements. • Keep your promises not matter what. • Count your blessings.

  21. Get Out There and Fail An early lesson of failure When you learned to ride a bike, keeping your balance was difficult. You struggled to stay up, maybe falling a few times. But with persistence, repetition, and encouragement, you eventually mastered the skill.

  22. Get Out There and Fail Successful people have learned to “fail” their way to success. Failure is a necessary part of the road to victory

  23. Get Out There and Fail “Failure is only the opportunity to more intelligently begin again” (Henry Ford)

  24. Get Out There and Fail “You can get everything in life you want if you’ll just help enough people get what they want” (ZigZigler)

  25. Change Your Attitude and You Change Your Life!!!

  26. “The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company, a church, or a home. The remarkable thing is that we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past. Nor can we change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We also cannot change the inevitable. The only thing that we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10 percent what happens to me and 90 percent how I react to it. And so it is with you – we are in charge of our attitudes.” (Charles Swindoll)
