  1. English Project Names: Ido Bry, Yonatan Oz, Eitan Manor. Class: 11th grade. School: Tichon Hadash.

  2. Hanoh Manor was born in May 15th 1935 Pivnichna, Poland, by the name of Henrik Hornong.

  3. His father worked as a small business-man. His grandfather and his uncle had a sawmill. His mother’s family lived in Poniche and his father’s family lived in Katovich. He was an only child to his parents. The sawmill before The sawmill after 40 years, with changes in the name uncles Hanoh’s father.   4. . Hanoh doesn’t remember his childhood in Poland, because he was only 4 when the war broke out. All he remembers from Poland, are the dead horses he saw on the roads, after the nazis bombed Poland.

  5. When the nazis invaded, he and his family escaped his hometown of Pivnichna, but because of his father’s business, he stayed in the German part of Poland, and Hanoh never saw him again. After they escaped, they rode a train for two weeks, until they got to a town named Lebov in the soviet part of Poland and there the family members with him found a job in carpentry. It was cold there and there were hunger and diseases. When the germans invaded the Soviet Union in 1941, his family escaped again and went east. They found shelter in the ancient quarter of the city Bukhara. There were hunger and diseases there. His uncle died from the Typhoid fever and his mother got very sick too, so she sent Hanoh to an orphanage. In the late 1941, when he was 6 years old, he joined “Yaldei Teheran”, a delegation of jewish kids, that would pass through Teheran, on it’s way to Israel. After a while they decided to move the kids by boat. He came to Palestina on February 1943 and was put with a hosting family in the moshav “Nahalal”. He met his mother again in 1951, when he was 16. His mother never found his father so she got remarried.

  6. He started high school when he was 16, after his mother came to Israel. He joined the army on 1954, to the 890 battalion, the first Paratroopers battalion in the IDF. He fought in few of Israel’s wars. On 1957 he got married, when he was 22. Today he is 75, has 2 kids and 5 grandkids. Hanoh’s wedding
