  2. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us’. John:14.

  3. Founded and built on Jesus, v6 & 7. • Jesus was chosen & precious to God, v4 • Jesus is the determining factor in where people spend eternity – v7 & 8. • The church is a whole, not just a random pile of individual bricks.

  4. Chosen people – v9: • ‘People’ = race – defined by Creed, not colour, culture or country • Royal priesthood – v9: • we are the ministers • Holy nation – v9: • Holy = separated for God • People belonging to God – v9: • unique – called and chosen, forgiven, adopted, treasured and loved • People = crowd, but it’s singular • Purpose of the church – • to declare God’s praises!
