  1. Review for Ratio and Proportions CCSS.6.RP.3, 3a, 3c More practice problems… Materials needed: Journal, glue, pencil, calculator, ruler to build ratio tables

  2. Your bag of Skittles has 15 orange, 14 green, 11 yellow, 8 red, and 3 blue candies. What is the ratio of green to yellow Skittles? What is the ratio of blue to total Skittles in simplest form? Name a part to part, a part to whole, and a whole to part ratio. How many of each color Skittles would there be if there were 153 Skittles in the bag and the proportions were the same? If 1/3 of the Skittles were a new color, how many of the new color would there be?

  3. Your Mom put gas in the car and paid $57 for 19 gallons. What is the unit price for gas? Build a ratio table to show how much 8 gallons cost. How many gallons could you buy for $6? Find the same equivalent rates using algorithms. If the gas station across the street is selling gas $7.00 for 2 gallons, which station has the better prices?

  4. You traveled 15 kilometers in 3 hours. Your friend traveled 35 kilometers in 5 hours. Did you travel at the same speed? If you left at the same time, who arrived first?

  5. Yay! Fractions… A recipe for hot chocolate says you should mix 2 tablespoons of powder with ¾ cup of hot water. If you want to make 6 cups of hot chocolate, how much powder do you need? __________________________

  6. At the fair, 15 people out of 150 people won a large prize at the Basketball Shooting Booth. What is the ratio of winners to people who played the game in simplest form? If another 140 people played the game and won at the same ratio, how many more people won? If only 286 people played the game and 26 of them won, what will the ratio of winners to players be?

  7. Of the following, which is the better buy? $33.45 for 15 loaves of bread $28.73 for 13 loaves of bread $6.66 for 3 loaves of bread $36.00 for 16 loaves of bread
