  2. Student organizing • Student parliament : >Faculty >University • Students organizations : > basic (Alliance, Association,Union) > profession oriented (EESTEC, BEST, ESTIEM, ELSA, IAESTE, AEISEC, IAAS, AEGEE, IEEE… )

  3. Why Student parliament? • Hard recognition of student representatives • Students organizations are independent • Higher education law > made it, at the same time possible and obligatory > official body of the Faculty and University

  4. Student parliament – University of Novi Sad • Most important student institution • Officially able to represent students will • Established in december 2006. • 31 member from 14 faculties(40.000students) : > 14+1 guaranteed > 16 according to the number of students • Legal representatives elected by students • Electing members in University administrative and professional bodies (Council, the Senate), student vice-rector…

Student parliament 2007 setup members according to the numbers of students • Faculty of Philosophy, 4060 students, 3 • Faculty of Agriculture, 3340,students, 2 • Faculty of Law, 5079 students, 3 • Faculty of Technology 1169 students, 1 • Faculty of Economics 6227 students, 4 • Faculty of Technical Sciences8186 students, 5 • Faculty of Medicine 3192 students, 2 • Faculty of Sciences 4351 students, 3 • Academy of Arts 719 students, 1 • Faculty of Civil Engineering 628 students, 1 • 'Mihajlo Pupin' Technical Faculty 2862 students, 2 • Faculty of Sport and Physical Education 1201 students, 1 • Faculty of Education 698 students, 1 • Teachers' Training Faculty in Hungarian 174 students, 1

  6. At this moment…. • What is done : established, rule book , elected members in University bodies, preparation for up coming elections… • Need to be done : elect student council and members in different boards, organizing student conference, consolidate strong student body…

Basic Network spread on all faculties Main aims are to : >solving students problems >be present in all aspects of students life >organizing social activities: sport, parties, gatherings, seminars… >student standard and rights Long story short: STUDENT SERVICE Profession oriented Mostly being part of international network organizations >Organizing student exchanges, long and short term >making better collaboration between companies and students: job fair, contest, seminars… >improving international competence Long story short : BREAKING THE BORDERS Student organizations

  8. Students organizations Should work on : • continue with common activities • gather strength relations with parliament • to be “opposition” to the parliament
