  12. “GVAR” to GRB Transition • GVAR continues as long as a GOES-I/Q spacecraft is operational • GRB becomes active with GOES-R • Creation of Pseudo-GVAR is being considered to aid transitions during the period when there is one GOES-I/Q spacecraft and one GOES-R spacecraft operational

  14. MDL Transition • No Transition Period Planned • Operational with GOES-R • Becomes Part of Sensor Data

  15. LRIT Communications Link • Downlink Frequency: 1693.4 MHz • (3 MHz higher for Option 1 and possibly 3, 4, 5) • Polarization: Linear N-S • Coverage: Earth hemisphere • to a minimum elevation of 5 degrees • User Data Rate: 256 kbps • Data Format: NRZ-M • Modulation: QPSK • FEC Coding: Convolutional • Rate ½, Constraint length K=7 and R-S (223, 255) • Bandwidth: 600 kHz • Required BER: 1 in 108 • Downlink EIRP: 57 dBmi • Ground G/T: -0.3 dB/K
