Organize Participation for PI • Start with Leadership Support • Create a Structure for Success • Incorporate PI into a broader planning process • Form a high-level steering committee • Assign subcommittees or improvement teams to specific priority areas • Utilize a quality improvement collaborative • Plan to share results

  9. Plan Post-Assessment Activities from the Beginning: • Determine how the assessment results will be used • Identify leadership, staff support, and stakeholders • Establish timeline for initial post-assessment activities (sharing results, establishing priorities)

Communicate with Assessment Participants: • Plan for using assessment results • Who will be responsible for post-assessment activities • Timeline for sharing results and for acting on results • Options for their involvement in post-assessment activities (role, time commitment, other expectations)

  15. When the Concern is Timeliness • Review along with other annual reports or report cards (Healthy People 2010, Kids Count, etc. • Connect to current issues or anniversary events • Highlight results during annual association meeting and conferences

  16. When the Concern is Sustainability • Collaborate with partners on funding proposals to address priorities • Look for an active group to sponsor or adopt a related ES • Get agreement from accountable entities and staff • Utilize results to meet categorical assessments or requirements
