  2. Before we get started… My past experience Presentation style Share comments and questions at any time No 100% effective way to recruit and retain members Surface level We only have 20ish minutes
  3. Recruitment as a Business Before recruitment During recruitment What are you selling? (What is your organization?) Who is your target market? (Potential new members?) How are you selling to them? (How do you market/recruit?) Share your “Why” (Why does your RSO exist and why should they join?) Should do before recruitment too

  5. Best Practices? Would anyone like to share ideas or tactics with the group?
  6. Other ideas How you can improve your recruitment DO NOT rely on social media Why? Have a recruitment planning meeting before each semester Set goals for yourself and your organization Make it a point to meet (X) number of students Even if they don’t join, leave a good impression What is your goal as an organization? What is the ideal number of members you want to achieve that goal?

  9. How to retain members “Great recruitment leads to better members” How we recruit members will directly affect their involvement Are we honest when we recruit? Are we showing them what we should be as opposed to what we actually are? What are we telling them about membership expectations?
  10. Retention cont. Once they join, do you give them responsibilities? What does your organization do to empower members? Do they have a voice?
