  2. Classroom Management—How we get along • Come to class with your supplies: notebook, pens, pencils, erasers, highlighters are recommended • Code Switch—use the academic register • Be mindful of individual differences

  3. Small habits make a big difference • OWL: Optimal Window of Learning • What about homework? • Team Managers

  4. Teams: rotated every 5-6 weeks, shoulder partners People skills are critical for life.

  5. Pencils need to be kept in good condition, no sharpening in class Water bottles must be secured in a safe place, tightly closed. Only water is allowed.

  6. Independent reading books are a must, have at least 2 books in your backpack Friendship problems are normal in middle school. Limit games on school nights
