Sample answer • The column chart illustrates / shows the average hours of housework per week done by married women in comparison with married man. • As can be seen from the chart in families without children, women tend to spend 30 hours per week doing housework whereas this number is only 20 hours for men. However, things are quite different when children enter the house. In families of one or two children, men maintain approximately the same number of time doing housework as in childless households, but women’s hours of work at home rises to 50 per week because it takes them more time to take care of their children. • According to the chart with families have 3 or more children, women have to work harder. They may spend 55 hours a week doing housework while their husbands share with only 10 . • In general the chart suggests that if women are to gain social equality, they should first be librated from familial responsibilities. This can only be done if men lend more helpful hand to women in doing domestic chores.
