1. Evaluation question 4Callum Hurst How did you use new media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?

2. My magazine cover We used a number of methods for our promotional package to promote our film. The methods we already used we used were The magazine, the poster and of course the trailer. Already having of finishing these we needed to have an idea using Web 2.0 to advertise our trailer and to get feedback.

3. The promotional use of Web 2.0 As a group we came up with a number ideas how we could promote our film through web 2.0. Some of the ideas we cam up was a fan page on Facebook making a fan page was completely alien to us so I don’t recall having a fan page ever made. The most successful method we used to promote our film from web 2.0 was uploading our video on to YouTube. Since we put our video on YouTube it cam tremendously popular having the highest hits in the whole course. How we did this was that we advertised our film on other YouTube videos having links to our film on peoples videos. This was a great idea and benefited us allot. This was incredibly useful to us as we showed us how popular the video was and the kind of people who were watching it in accurate detail.

4. Using Photoshop I’ve had allot of experience with photoshop before I made my poster and magazine and felt I could use the asset to my advantage to create a good poster and magazine. Even though now days Photoshop is known as a old media technology it proved to benefit me to the max as I created a brilliant film poster for our film which I’m really happy about. Using photoshop before I was only used to using it to do my photography with, using it to create a poster which I have never done before was completely new to me, I had to use discover different skills and how to use them well which was very fun and addicting to use. Overall Photoshop proved to be most useful to me when creating my poster and magazine cover and I am very satisfied with the outcome.

5. Using Adobe premier I have always been very keen in making and editing film. The whole production side of film making is something that I really enjoy doing and over the whole production side of the course I was always in the editing suite trying to add more things that would improve the film trailer. We did have problems with the Adobe software from various technical things such as the time codes being corrupt and the constant crashes it gave us, apart form that Adobe served us well and we probably wouldn’t of done a better job with any other software.

6. Using Prezi to display my work. I found Prezi a very interesting way of displaying my work. At first I had a bit of trouble getting used to everything but it turned out to help me out a lot. Why I think Prezi is a much better way of displaying work than other presentation applications is that you can alter your work in your own unique way, it’s also allot more better looking and much more contemporary that other presentation sites and I believe I showed that in my work.

7. Conclusion. Looking back personally I don’t think I experimented with new media technology. The types of media technology I did use such as YouTube proved to be very successful for my requirements. The only new type of media technology I did use was Prezi which surprised me more than I could imagine as it’s just a great way to present your work and allowed to make a good presentation for my second evaluation question. Even though I used the older media technology it proved to be very useful and helped me out allot to create great media production packages which I’m very happy with.
