  2. Deputy Assessment Administration Supervisor as a backup Written notification to parents on assessment timetable and emergency arrangements Schools can still submit changes to school data in writing no later than 30 April 2009 General Reminder (1)

  3. In case of emergency, schools should report to the TSA Administration Team at 3628 8181 immediately Schools may also call EDB 24-hour hotline 2891 0088for any school closure announcement under bad weather condition General Reminder (2)

  4. WS1 – Non-Chinese Speaking Students (NCS) Take part in the whole assessment Maths paper in English provided if not specified, schools may opt for Maths in either language WS2 – Newly-arrival Children Take part in the whole Assessment No specialadministrative arrangements will be provided by HKEAA Special Arrangements (1)

  5. WS3 – exempt from the whole assessment WS4 – exempt from Listening Assessments WS5 – with intellectual disability Take part in the whole assessment No specialadministrative arrangements will be provided by HKEAA Special Arrangements (2)

  6. WS6 – using A3 QA booklets and/or auxiliary equipment In English Listening Assessment, may be given a sub-paper different from that of their classmates Question-answer booklets and CDs will be packed separately WS7 – taking assessments separately and/or time extension Question-answer booklets and CDs will be packed separately Special Arrangements (3)

  7. 3 reports will be issued: School report: All students Supplementary report 1: with WS1(NCS) students excluded Supplementary report 2: with WS1(NCS), WS2, WS4, WS5, WS6 and WS7 students excluded Reports to Schools

  8. Oral & CAV Assessments

  9. is appointed 4 May (P.3) and 8 or 11 May (P.6) AM schools: 9:00 am to 1:00 pm PM schools: 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm Whole-day schools: 9:00 am – 3:30 pm To be received by the Assessment Administration Supervisor (AAS) Keep the box INTACT Delivery of Assessment Materials

  10. Call HKEAA if: 1. the courier pack is damaged 2. materials have not arrived during the specified time Irregularities regarding the delivery of Assessment Materials

  11. If EDB announces that primary schools are to be closed, the delivery will be postponed to 5 May 2008 (P.3) and 12 May 2009 (P.6) Bad Weather on the Day for Delivery of Assessment Materials

  12. On 5 May (P.3) and 12 May (P.6) HKEAA staff will visit schools selected at random To ensure packing and delivery of assessment materials has been properly completed by the courier Quality Assurance Check

  13. Remind students to bring their student handbooks on the assessment day Prepare 3 sets of student list for each class with Chinese names, English names and class numbers of all students for each pair of Oral Examiners, and the AAA for attendance taking Pre-assessment Preparation

All WS0, WS3-WS7 students are not included in the Student Sample List If these students are still found on the Student Sample List, AAS can replace them with the students on reserve and report to the Oral Examiners via AAA The Student Sample List is generated from the school data submitted as at 17 Mar 2009 Student Sample List

  16. 1 copy of bilingual (Chinese and English) instructions for CAV paper will be provided to each school with WS1 student(s) AAS can photocopy the instructions for use by any WS1 student if selected Support to Non-Chinese Students in CAV Assessment

If EDB announces schools are to be closed in the afternoon: The PM assessments of the day will be rescheduled to the afternoon of 8 May (P.3) / 15 May (P.6) Collection of assessment materials will be postponed to 12 May (P.3) / 18 May (P.6) Bad Weather on the Days of Oral Assessments - Afternoon

  24. 1 carton containing the AAS Working File and all stationery in both days will be provided (Do NOT open any carton until the assessment day) All cartons are packed by assessment day and with a label to indicate the total number of carton(s) of the day Barcode labels are generated from the school data submitted as at 17 Mar 2009 Reminder – Written (1)

  25. Teachers are NOT permitted to invigilate their own subject classes Remind the Invigilators to bring along their personal copies of the Invigilators’ Handbook for use at the assessment sessions (to be sent to schools by DHL on 27 May) Reminder – Written (2)

  32. Additional bilingual (Chinese and English) instructions for all Chinese assessment papers will be provided to each WS1 student Enough copies of instructions will be put into the Stationery Box. AAS can distribute the instructions to their WS1 students if necessary Support to Non-Chinese Students (NCS)

  33. AAS please ask invigilators to collect the bilingual instructions after the assessment and put them into the Envelopes for Surplus Materials Support to Non-Chinese Students (NCS)

  34. Students are required to stick barcode labels onto the cover and inner pages of their worked question-answer booklets (QA booklets) Procedures Related to Onscreen Marking (OSM)

  42. In English Listening Assessment, students may be given a sub-paper different from that of their classmates. In such case, schools should arrange for them to be assessed in a separate room or put them in a class using the same sub-paper No barcode label is required on enlarged answer scripts as they cannot be scanned Special Arrangements – Students Requiring Enlarged QPs (2)
