  1. NANOSTRUCTURED ELECTROLYTE MEMBRANES BASED ON POLYMER / IONIC LIQUIDS / ZEOLITE COMPOSITES FOR HIGH TEMPERATURE PEMFCs PRESENT SITUATION OF THE PROJECT: SCHEDULE AND DELIVERABLES (Juan I. Gallego)‏ ZEOCELL – 3rd meeting 25th and 26th of June, 2009 Patras

  2. PRESENT SITUATION OF THE SCHEDULE ZEOCELL – 3rd meeting – 25th and 26th of June, 2009 2

  3. PRESENT SITUATION OF THE SCHEDULE ZEOCELL – 3rd meeting – 25th and 26th of June, 2009 3

  4. PRESENT SITUATION OF THE SCHEDULE • Delays in the WP1 and WP2: 4 months. Already finished. • We have just begun the WP3 and WP4. • The task 3.1 has be extended 2 more months. • The tasks 3.2 and 3.4 will probably be extended some more months (INA). • The WP3 was supposed to finish on month 18 (unlikely); and the WP4, on month 24 (probable). • The tasks 3.2 and 3.4 will probably be extended some more months (INA). • How are the rest of partners getting on? Please, let us know your own comments to reflect them in the schedule and in the 2nd interim activity report. How is the present situation of the schedule? • It’s very possible that we should extend the majority of tasks involved these months, but we must accelerate our pace or shorten some other tasks. The Commission will not accept any extension of the project (time or money). ZEOCELL – 3rd meeting – 25th and 26th of June, 2009 4

  5. PRESENT SITUATION OF INA’s SCHEDULE At the moment, we’ll probably extend our participation in the WP3 some more months. ZEOCELL – 3rd meeting – 25th and 26th of June, 2009 5

  6. SITUATION OF THE PROJECT – 1st YEAR Approval of the report associated with the 1st reporting period ZEOCELL – 3rd meeting – 25th and 26th of June, 2009 6

  7. SITUATION OF THE PROJECT – 1st YEAR Approval of the report associated with the 1st reporting period ZEOCELL – 3rd meeting – 25th and 26th of June, 2009 7

  8. PERSONS-MONTHS SPENT PER PARTNER AND PER WP (UP TO MONTH 18) ZEOCELL – 3rd meeting – 25th and 26th of June, 2009– 25th and 26th of June, 2009 8

  9. DELIVERABLES ZEOCELL – 3rd meeting – 25th and 26th of June, 2009 9

  10. DELIVERABLES VERY DELAYED DELIVERABLES: • Deliverable 1.2.- (FORTH, month 12): Report on the ionic liquid entrapping by large pore zeolites on polymer/zeolites composites preparation. We had some pending tasks at the end of the year. FORTH are supposed to be finishing this. • Deliverable 7.1.- (CEGASA / CIDETEC, Month 13): Report on the evaluation of materials (zeolites, polymers, ionic Liquids) from an industrial point of view. It’s on the point of being finished these days (Alberto sent it to Pilar some days ago). • Deliverable 2.1.- (CIDETEC, month 12). There are many matters unsolved here, and we are very delayed. UTWENTE and SOLVIONIC are involved in this deliverable as well. ZEOCELL – 3rd meeting – 25th and 26th of June, 2009 10

  11. DELIVERABLES OTHER DELIVERABLES INVOLVED THESE WEEKS: • Deliverable 3.1 (FORTH, month 18): Report on the zeolite-based layer over polymer substrates obtaining procedure and on the results of the characterisation experiments. Must we postpone this deliverable because of the extension of tasks in WP3 or can we speed up? • Deliverable 4.1.- (CRF, month 18): Report on the fabrication of 2D ordered and random porous polymer structure. Can we make it on time? Mauro should have all the information compiled from the other partners involved and submit the deliverable to INA at the latest on 15th of July. • Deliverable 9.3.- (INA, month 18): Second interim activity report. INA should have all the information compiled from all partners (conclusions of this meeting, summary of spent persons-months per WP and any other information asked) at the end of July. ZEOCELL – 3rd meeting – 25th and 26th of June, 2009 11

  12. EVENTS AND ACTIONS ZEOCELL – 3rd meeting – 25th and 26th of June, 2009 12

  13. EVENTS AND ACTIONS June 2009. Distribution of bound documents related to Zeocell (months 1 to 17) among the partners. This is the pdf file. June 2009. The Technology Centre of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic is organising *EuroNanoForum 2009*, with the support of the European Commission and under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, to be held in *Prague, Czech Republic, on 2-5 June 2009*, as an official event of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The extensive conference programme targeted on *Nanotechnology for Sustainable Economy*, follows on the successful past EuroNanoForums 2003, 2005 and 2007 held in Trieste , Edinburgh and Düsseldorf. http://www.euronanoforum2009.eu/ . After the recommendation from the European Commission, the Technology Centre AS CR has invited Pilar Pina *to give an oral presentation* at the EuroNanoForum 2009 conference *in the* *Parallel Session A3: 2.2 Nanotechnology for energy –Nanotechnology for H2 Production & Storage; Fuel cells *on June 3rd starting at 9:00am. Here's her abstract and this is is her presentation. She seems to be quite satisfied because the audience were very interested in ZEOCELL. Carlos Saraiva, our Officer, and Vito Lambertini (CRF-Fiat) attended the meeting as well. April 2009. The prestigious researcher Prof Chintamani Nagesa Ramachandra Rao, who came to the University of Zaragoza and visited the Institute of Nanoscience and gave a lecture, was interested in our project. This piece of news (in Spanish) was published in the web page Aragón Investiga. The last paragraph is referred to Zeocell. March 2009. A piece of news related to our project, published in the Spanish newspaper El Periódico. February 2009. Juan I. Gallego presented our project (current situation, delivery of reports, general problems arisen, anecdotes, etc.) to other University of Zaragoza's Project Managers. Presentation of Juan I. Gallego. February 2009. Some pieces of news in the Aragonese press about our project: ADN, Aragón Digital, Europa Press, 20 Minutos. February 2009. Annual Meeting, Chicago. Carlos Saraiva Martins and Pilar Pina have given lectures on the 13th of February. Presentation of Pilar Pina. Mauro Sgroi presented Zeocell during the workshop of the project: Marie-Curie Network NANOMATCH - Supramolecular Nanostructured Organic/Inorganic Hybrid Systems. Turin, 12th - 13th of February, 2009.
