  1. Thousands of Rhode Islanders are barely staying afloat. RI Community Action Agencies are their lifeline.

  2. A statewide network of Eight Community Action Agencies Together we are eliminating the causes and effects of poverty.

  3. Basic & Emergency Needs 109,573 families turned to CAP agencies for food, heat, weatherization, emergency shelter, and crisis intervention.

  4. WIC and Nutrition 10,274 pregnant and parenting women with infants and young children received food vouchers and nutrition education.

  5. Heating Assistance &Weatherization 39,015 families had warmer, more energy efficient homes through heating assistance and home weatherization services.

  6. Primary Care & Dental Services 24,654 children received primary care, dental services or mental health counseling at Family Health Centers, in schools, or on the Molar Express.

  7. Affordable Housing 3,252 families purchased or rented affordable housing developed or owned by CAP agencies. Others received transitional housing support.

  8. Education & Life Skills Development 2,099 young adults participated in GED classes & learned job readiness skills.

  9. Employment & Training 4,911 students and out-of-school young adults learned real life skills that lead to job success.

  10. Child Care & After-School Programs 5,365 children were nurtured, mentored, and prepared to succeed in school through Head Start and after-school programs.

  11. Behavioral Health Services 2,711 children, teens and adults got their lives back on track through parent education, mental health, sexual abuse or substance abuse counseling.

  12. Youth Services 3,613 young adults & teens were supported through youth responsibility, prevention, and justice system diversionary programs.

  13. Senior Services 8,664 seniors received prescription assistance, social services, Senior Employment Training, or joined RSVP, the Retired Seniors Volunteer Program.

  14. Over 200,000 Rhode Islanders served United as a single force, CAP agency staff serve with knowledge, energy & compassion to achieve the best possible results for each and every client.
