Sine Waves. on the Graphing Calculator. In the Mode Menu, turn DEGREES on! (instead of RADIANS). Setting Up. Clear any equations or lists from your calculator to start! From the Y= list From STAT lists Turn Stat Plot OFF. Remember to use the  button for your independent variable.

  2. In the Mode Menu, turnDEGREESon! (instead of RADIANS) Setting Up • Clear any equations or lists from your calculator to start! • From the Y= list • From STAT lists • Turn Stat Plot OFF

  3. Remember to use the  button for your independent variable Enter the EQUATION • Press button to enter the equation

  4. Setting The Window • You must read the question carefully to determine reasonable restrictions on the independent and dependent variables. • Press the  button and adjust the Xmin, Xmax, Ymin and Ymax according to the above restrictions.

  5. PRESS GRAPH! If your graph doesn’t show, then you may need to rethink your window settings

  6. Answering QuestionsFrom the Graph To find a y-value, given an x-value: • Press the  button • Type in the x-value • Press enter • Read the y-value from the bottom of your graph.

  7. Answering QuestionsFrom the Graph To find an x-value, given y-value METHOD 1(less accurate): • Press  button • Use the  &  arrow keys to scroll until your y-value is close to what you are looking for

Answering QuestionsFrom the Graph To find an x-value, given a y-value METHOD 2 (accurate): • Press the button • In Y2 enter the y-value given • Press  • Press  to get into the Calc menu. • Choose intersect and follow the prompts given to find the intersection between your new line and your original curve • Repeat for all intersection points
