  1. Overcoming Temptation 13. Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. 15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. James 1:13-15 NKJV

  3. Temptation never takes a vacation “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.” 1 Pet. 5:8 “Be serious and keep watch; the Evil One, who is against you, goes about like a lion with open mouth in search of food;” BBE

  15. Overcoming Temptation Temptation is always present Matt. 6:13 “deliver us from evil” “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” 1 Cor. 10:13

  16. No degree of temptation justifies any degree of sin. We can say NO to temptation. God does not condemn us for being tempted. But we are responsible for how we react to temptation. Yield not to temptation.

  17. When we sin we can be forgiven ! “1. My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: 2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” 1 John 2:1-2
