Introduction to Future PLC • Future PLC was established in 1985 as a UK company with just one magazine • Starting with just magazines based on giving information on computers • In 1992 the first title that wasn’t part of the computer market was launched • In 2012 Future sold more than 24 million magazines • Their top known brands consist of ; T3, Total film, Cycling plus, Mollie makes and Official Xbox Magazine.

Future PLC And NME Team Up • Future’s Metal Hammer has revealed its latest brand extension, a weekly radio show on NME Radio, the fast-growing specialist music station. • Broadcast across the UK and online every Sunday night from 7-9pm, Metal Hammer Meltdown is hosted by Hammer’s Gill and Beez (James Gill and Terry Bezer.) • The first Metal Hammer Meltdown show is sponsored by Sonisphere Festival Knebworth – the forthcoming festival headlined by Metallica and Linkin Park. Listeners will hear an exclusive interview with Sonisphereorganiser Stuart Galbraith, tracks from acts on the Sonisphere bill and a chance to win VIP tickets.

  4. Range of platforms - Events • Future holds many specialist events. They hold events for consumers who are passionate about the hobbies they have. For example in October Future organised an event for keen photographers. The even took place over two days in London and was designed to teach people, with different seminars, how to take better images.

  5. Range of platforms - Apps • Future became partners with AppTap to create apps to go alongside their print magazines. For example Future has a magazine called T3, one of their most popular. Together with AppTap they created an App for mobile phones and tablets to help promote their magazine.
