Biotic Factors. Organisms depend on other organisms for food, shelter, protection, and reproduction. We arrange Abiotic and Biotic factors together to form 6 levels of organization. 1. Biosphere. The level of biological organization that is made up of all the ecosystems on Earth.

  1. Biotic Factors • Organisms depend on other organisms for food, shelter, protection, and reproduction. • We arrange Abiotic and Biotic factors together to form 6 levels of organization.

  2. 1. Biosphere • The level of biological organization that is made up of all the ecosystems on Earth. • So the entire Earth is a Biosphere.

  3. 2. Biome • A Biome is a large region with plants and animals well adapted to the soil and climate of the region.

  4. 3. Ecosystem • All of the communities in an area (biotic) and the abiotic factors that affect them make up an ecosystem.

  5. 4. Community • The populations of different species that interact in some way are called a community.

  6. 5. Population • All of the individuals of one species that live in the same area at the same time make up a population.

  7. 6. Organism • An organism is one individual from a population.
