8. Simply put: A Plan of Study is a �roadmap� that guides students through the coursework and activities that will help them to achieve their personal career goals. T�Read slide. 10. Cluster and Pathway Sample Plans of Study The Cluster and Pathway sample Plans of Study can be used to assist students in completing their personalized Plans of Study. Cluster � Cluster Plans of Study are focused on a broad set of related occupations that share commonalities Pathway � Pathway Plans of Study are focused on a subset of related occupations within a Career Cluster T� There seems to be a little confusion about the different POS. In an effort to clarify things a little, we have come up with these definitions: (Read slide) T--We are hopeful that when you sit down with a student to make his/her personal Plan of Study, and once the student has completed some assessments to determine his interests/abilities, the student will be able to discover a career area. Then he may be able to narrow down his choices by looking at a sample Cluster POS. Once he has chosen a Cluster area, then he can narrow his choices even further by looking at a Pathway POS.
