  2. Sons and Daughters of Liberty

  3. When was it organized? • In 1765

  4. What was their purpose? • They would intimidate tax collectors through violence. • One of the people that they intimidated was Andrew Oliver. They threatened to destroy his home.

  5. Who were some of the key individuals? • Samuel Adams was an outspoken leader of the Sons and Daughters of Liberty. He stirred up public anger with his speeches. • John Hancock was a merchant, smuggler and fire warden in Boston. • Paul Revere was a silver smith and patriot.

  6. How did they accomplish their goals? • They made British goods. The women would group together and spin, weave or knit their own clothing.

  8. When was it organized? • It was created in 1760.

  9. What was their purpose? • To help towns and colonies • They would pass news along to inform others

  10. How did they accomplish their goals? • They shared ideas and information about the new British laws. • They would also boycott.

  11. Who were some of the key individuals involved? • Samuel Adams helped in the founding of committees of correspondence.

  12. The stamp act Congress

  13. How did they accomplish their goals? • The congress would meet in a building known as federal hall. • Some of the meetings turned violent.

  14. Who were the key individuals? • Timothy Ruggles: Lived from October 20,1711 to August 4, 1795. He was an American leader, Jurist and Politician. He was a delegate to the stamp act congress.

  15. The 1st Continental Congress

  16. What was their purpose? • They would pass most of Massachusetts's laws like Massachusetts's plan for making a militia. A militia is a group of people that will fight in a time of need.

  17. Who were some of the key individuals? involved • Paul Revere. He also helped form this group and made resolutions.

  18. How did they Accomplish their goals • They sent their request to the congress to get a the laws passed

  19. The 2nd Continental Congress

  20. What was their Purpose? • They built an army and defied parliament, yet they tried to not get in a war

  21. Who were some of the key individuals? • George Washington, Paul Revere, and the Congress

  22. How did they Accomplish their goals? • The congress decided to have George Washington to lead there army • They sent Olive Branch to the king hoping that he would protect his royal subjects

  23. When was it organized? • They had met in May 1775
