  3. General Information Azerbaijan Tafakkur Youth Association (ATYA) is a national NGO working towards building better civil society. The organization is located in Absheron region (Between Baku and Sumgait cities). The process to establish ATYA began at the end of 2002. ATYA was registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan in August 2005. ATYA mainly active disseminating information on Human Rights Education, Peace Promotion and Civil Society Building. Being non-commercial, non-political and non-religious association is a private institution established on the bases of community of interests of the Republic of Azerbaijan, voluntaries, member’s rights equality, self-governance by the initiative of several physical persons joined on common interest’s basis. Association constructs its activity with respect to the Constitution, the Law of the Republic of Azerbaijan “On private organizations (public communities and funds)”, the Law of Republic of Azerbaijan “State registration of juridical persons”, to other normative acts and it’s Charter in force. Association independent organization and its has accounts in bank, TIN, firm blank, flag, emblem and other identification details. Association Association presents in time requested report and declarations to the according executive organs and donors.

  4. Main Purpose The main purpose of ATYA is to enlightenment of people, especially youth on the social, scientific-cultural, legal spheres, to development thinking and to strengthen them role in the civil society building.

  5. Objectives • Encouraging active participation of young people in building of civil society; • Supporting young people to develop them knowledge and gain necessary professional skills for helping them to get employed; • Solutions social-economical problems of young people and protection of their rights; • Promotion of a good cooperation with international youth structures and other organizations abroad; • Involving young people into voluntary work on national and international level; • Involving young peoples into the regional social and ecological projects; • Enlargement participation of youth in international events and developing collaboration between young people from Azerbaijan with their peers worldwide.

  6. Main Activities • Conflict solution and peace building; • NGO/Civil society and community building/development; • Youth development, capacity building, apprenticeship and business education; • Advocacy, active citizenship, youth exchange and voluntarism; • Art and culture; • Human rights education and promotion; • Healthy life style (HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria); • Environment and biodiversity education. Special Activities of ATYA: • ATYA also gives attention to work with sensitive group of people and persons in disadvantaged situations which are disabled persons, women in problematic situations, refugees, internal displace person and asylum seekers, homeless persons, unemployed persons, (ex-) drug addicts, (ex-) detainees, children and elderly people. • That is why we create in the end of 2008 atyadonation@yahoogroups.com and atyadonation@yahoo.com e-mail for involve Donors supports and CSR-ATYA@yahoogroups.com and corporatesocialresponsibility@yahoo.com e-mail for involve Companies supports to the Association’s organizational development and spheres mentioned above.

NOTE: We are ready for create new international partnership relationswith great pleasure.

Financing As shown in the Charter of ATYA financing sources of Association are below: Permanent and temporary membership fees; Donation of legal entities and physical persons; Incomes from sales of equipments, services, concerts, exhibitions, charitable activities and etc.; Grants of National and International Donors; Other income types which are they not prohibited by legislation. We looking forward to create local-international partnership with great pleasure for organize fruitful-interesting projects for the sake of peace building, youth empowerment and civil society development
