  4. Congratulations Sligo !!! We achieved Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) on the 2010 MSA !!

  5. Congratulations Sligo !!! Total Suspensions decreased from 79 in 2009 to 56 in 2010 1/3 or 30% decrease

  6. Sligo Successes Made AYP in Reading and Mathematics for all school educational school groups The four educational groups of concerns that we did not MEET AYP in 2009 (FARMS, HISPANIC, LEP and SPEC) all made safe harbor this year which means a 10% or greater progress in their performance Asian, White andAfrican American Students achieved AYP via AMO or Confidence Interval in both Reading and Mathematics this year

Sligo Successes African American students make AYP in Reading by the AMO for the last 4 fours in a row Hispanic students achieved AYP in Reading for the last 4 years in a row Asian, White and African American Students would be predicated to achieve AYP in 2011 in both Reading and Mathematics based upon their performance in 2010

Goal # 1 Increase Student Literacy (All students able to read, write and critically think above grade level) Enhance Rigor and Promote Acceleration 60-80% of all students completing Advanced level classes Goal # 2 Improve Math Proficiency Skills (All students able to perform above grade level) Enhance Rigor and Promote Acceleration (80% of all 8th graders having completed Algebra with a C or higher; Goal # 3 Enhanced School Climate Increased stakeholder satisfaction via semester survey Reduced suspension rate (6.5%) School Improvement Goals 2010-2011

  16. Who to call when... • TEAM LEADER • Concern about your child’s performance/behavior in all of his or her classes. • Request for a parent conference with all of your child’s teachers. • Inability to reach a teacher on your child’s team.

GRADE LEVEL COUNSELOR • Request for work due to your child’s extended absence. • Concern about your child’s schedule. • Concern about your child’s social/emotional adjustment to school. • CONTENT SPECIALIST • Concern about the curriculum and/or instructional delivery that could not be resolved with your child’s teacher

Who to call when... • GRADE LEVEL ADMINISTRATOR • Concern about the handling of a disciplinary infraction, academic matter or incident in class that could not be resolved with the Teacher , TeamLeader and/or Counselor. • PRINCIPAL • Concern about any matter that could not be resolved with the teacher, team leader, counselor and/or grade-level administrator.

Information Available on Edline • Your child’s grades in each class, updated (at least) for each progress report (every 3 wks). • Your child’s missing assignments / homework. • You can elect to be emailed every time a teacher updates Edline. • Some teachers choose to upload worksheets, class calendar items.

  20. How to Access Edline • For 7th/8th graders…username/passwords are the same. • Sixth graders…username/password mailed. • For assistance, contact Mr. Bowman, Edline SuperUser.

  21. Reminder: Important Upcoming Dates • Arts and Academic Night • (One of four Sligo Family Fun Night Events) • January 27 at 7:00 p.m. • 5th Grade Parent Night • Feb. 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the media center • (Feb 17 snow date)
