  1. Apert Syndrome By: Alex M

  2. Discovered • Apert Syndrome was discovered in 1906 by a French Physician named Eugene Apert. • Apert diagnosed nine patients which all experienced the following symptoms.

  3. Symptoms • The symptoms the patients suffered from included abnormal bone growth in the hands and in the feet.

  4. Symptoms • Other symptoms include bone abnormalities in the skull. • This is caused from the seams in the skull closing too early in a baby’s developmental stage.

  5. Information • Apert Syndrome is an Autosomal dominant trait which means it takes only one parent to pass it on to their children.

  6. Cures • There is no actual cure for Apert Syndrome. • However, you can try to relieve the symptoms of this disease by getting surgery to try to fix the bone abnormalities.

  7. How To Prevent Apert Syndrome • Sadly like many other diseases, there is no way to prevent Apert syndrome. The only way not to spread it is for the affected individual to decide not to have children.
