  2. Early Life of Drake • Drake the English explorer was born in 1541 in a small house in England. • His home was in Tavistock, 20 miles from seaport Plymouth.

  3. Early Life of Drake • Drake was one of twelve brothers and he was oldest. • Edmound his father was a protestant famer and a sailorbefore his sons were borne.

  4. Drake’s adventures • When he was 18,he started serving on a ship that went to Biscay Bay and traded. • When he was twenty three, he went on slaving trips to West-Africa. • When he was 24, his crew on the ship made him captain of the Judith.

  5. Drake’s adventures • On the Judith they all went to war. • He came back to England in 1580 with loads of treasure. • Queen Elizabeth the 1st rewarded him by making him a kight.
