  3. They all – • Have an open chamber (air space) • Flexible walls • Move a fluid in and out And the Anatomy? What’s the heart look like?

  6. Lab Safety • Wear safety glasses at all times • Wear rubber gloves • Wash your hands when finished • * Chemical preservatives can cause sickness and eye irritation, be careful!

  7. Sheep Heart Dissection • Procedure: • Try to identify any chambers (open spaces) • Look for any valves • Look for any outside openings in heart • Identify areas where muscle is well developed

  8. Labeling Heart Parts – • Use diagram of heart on plastic card. • Locate as many parts as you can • Double check your work • Have labels checked by Mr. Brewer to sign your journal on #2. • Clean-up • Answer all other questions #1, #3-#10

  9. Clean-up: • Remove labels and place in bag • Return heart to plastic bag and close • Throw away paper plate • Throw away gloves • Wash hands • Clean Table with Disinfectant Spray • Answer questions on worksheet #1, #3-#10
