  7. Purpose / Problem What do you want to know? Pose a question that is TESTABLE

  8. Propósito/ Problema Que quieres tu saber? Presente una pregunta A PRUEBA

  9. Hypothesis • What do you think will happen and why? This should be stated BEFORE you begin the experiment.

  10. Hipótesis • Que piensa usted que pasara y porque? Debera declararlo ANTES que empieze el experimento.

  11. Materials • What do you need to complete this experiment? • What did you use to complete this experiment? • List EVERYTHING!!

  12. Materiales • Que necesita usted para completar este experimento? • Que uso para completar el experimento? • Anotelo TODO!!

  13. Procedure • What steps will you follow to complete this experiment? • List all your steps so that another person could repeat your experiment without your help. • Test your hypothesis a minimum of three trials.

  14. Procedimiento • Que pasos seguira ud. para completar este experimento? • Anote todos los pasos para que otra persona pueda repetir su experimento sin su ayuda. • Examine su hipótesis y como mínimo poner a prueba por tres veces.

  15. Data • Collect data in a table or chart to show three or more trials. • Make observations and collect appropriate data.

  16. Datos • Reunir datos en un cuadro o gráfico para mostrar tres o mas pruebas. • Haga observaciones y reuna datos apropiados.

  17. Results • What happened? • State what you observed. • Refer to your Data in your Results.

  19. Conclusion • What is the answer to the question? Did the investigation results match your hypothesis? • Interpret the data. Why did the results turn out the way they did? Refer to books and other resources to help answer your question. Restate your hypothesis.

  21. Written Report • A written report may accompany the project. • All students in 5th grade are required to have a written report.

  23. Resource List • Make sure to list all your resources.

  25. *Remember* • If using pictures on your display, do not show any faces in the pictures. • Your child’s name should not be visible. (Put your child’s name on the back of the display board and then place a sticky note over it.) • Permission Forms must be signed, collected, and displayed with the project for any student participating in another student’s project (even for questionnaires).

  26. *Recuerde* • Si usa fotos en su exposición, no muestre rostros en las fotos. • El nombre de su hijo(a) no debe ser visible. (Ponga el nombre de su hijo(a)en la parte de atrás del tablero con una nota encima.) • Los formularios de permiso deben ser firmados, completos, y expuestos con el projecto para cualquier estudiante participando en el projecto de otro estudiante (tambien para cuestionarios).

  29. Science Fair Boards • The 5th Grade Service Learning Club will sell science fair boards in the mornings before school for $5.00 (cash only) the week of January 10th – 14th before school.
