BCPSS SUMMER ROBOTICS • CHALLENGE 3 • ROBOT SKILLS CHALLENGE • Challenge 3 • Official Robot Skills Challenge • Date: July 18, 2011 • Objective: • Score as many sacks on any of the three goals (floor, troughs and high goals) • Field: • Standard sack attack 12’x12’ VEX competition field set-up for the official game. • Rules: • 1. Teams are given one minute to play. • 2. At the beginning of each Robot Skills Match, the Robot must be placed such that it is touching any of the colored Alliance Starting Tiles and not touching any Scoring Objects other than a preloaded sack. • 3. Prior to the start of each Robot Skills Match, each team will have one (1) Sack available as a Robot • Skills Preload. A Scoring Object is considered to be legally preloaded if it is touching the Robot and not touching any Field Element. • 4. Robot Skills Match Loads may be introduced on any Alliance Starting Tile. • 5. Drivers and Coaches may interact with their robots as specified in the official game rules. • 6. In a Robot Skills Match, all Goals are considered to be the same color for purposes of any rules or • definitions. • 7. Robots will only earn points for being Robot Skills Parked on an Alliance Starting Tile of the same color • as the one they started on.

Scoring: • A Sack Scored in a Floor Goal is worth one (1) point. • A Sack Scored in a Trough is worth five (5) points. • A Sack Scored in a High Goal is worth ten (10) points. • A Bonus Sack Scored in a Floor Goal is worth six (6) points. • A Bonus Sack Scored in a Trough is worth ten (10) points. • A Bonus Sack Scored in a High Goal is worth fifteen (15) points. • A Robot that is Robot Skills Parked at the end of the match receives ten (10) points Robot Expectations: Can score on any of the three goals on the field. Robot size is the official allowed size. Can pick-up and drive with all sacks on the field.
