  3. Part One: Origin of British soccer Have you ever wonder how soccer games get into our life? When and where is the origin of this game from? Why is it so many peoples in the world crazy about this game? Almost every culture has reference to the history of soccer. But it was in England that soccer really begin to take shape. It all started in 1863 in England, when two football association (association football and rugby football) split off on their different course. Therefore, the first Football Association was founded in England.

Part Two: The birth of modern British soccer • On October 26, 1863, in London the British set up the world’s first football organization - the British Football Association (The FA) and uniformed the rules of football. Theyformulateda total of 14 soccer rules, which are now based on. Today, people call this day “ the birth of the modern football”.

English Premier League was established on February 20, 1992, whose predecessor (前身) was the League of England(英格兰甲级联赛). So the FA Premier League is the highest level league of the English league system(英格兰联赛系统).
