  1. www.CreativeYouthIdeas.com Youth Camp - Leap of Faith Use this group building game to build community, teamwork, and trust within the group www.CreativeScavengerHunts.com

  2. www.CreativeYouthIdeas.com • Game Materials • a board at least 6 inches wide and of a length of three feet that is strong enough to be used for a platform on which a student may stand. • two bricks, cinder blocks, or solid wooded blocks that the board can be placed upon so that someone can place there hands beneath the board to raise it. • Blindfold www.CreativeScavengerHunts.com

  3. www.CreativeYouthIdeas.com Game Play Place the board on a couple of bricks or something that raises up the ends so that two leaders can place their hands beneath the board and raise it. Blindfold a volunteer and have them step on the platform. A third leader must stand in front of the volunteer so that the volunteer can place their hands on the shoulders of this leader to keep their balance. www.CreativeScavengerHunts.com

  4. www.CreativeYouthIdeas.com Tell the volunteer that you will raise them up no higher than waist level and then they will be asked to jump from the platform using the leader as a spotter to maintain their balance. (In actuality, the board only leaves the ground a few inches.) The leader in front of the volunteer slowly squats making the volunteer believe they are being raised whereas in actuality they haven’t. www.CreativeScavengerHunts.com

  5. www.CreativeYouthIdeas.com Tell the volunteer to jump, assuring them that they will not be hurt. They will be jumping only a few inches but expect to fall a few feet. The feeling is eerie, and they are quite surprised. They will, of course, be falling into the waiting arms of the group. www.CreativeScavengerHunts.com

  6. www.CreativeYouthIdeas.com • Debrief • What were you feeling before you jumped? • What were your fears? • How much did you trust the leaders / the group to protect you from harm? • How is this activity like trusting God? • Do you feel you can trust our group or not? • What are some ways we can learn to trust each other? • What responsibilities do we have to each other for support and encouragement? www.CreativeScavengerHunts.com

  7. www.CreativeYouthIdeas.com Closing ApplicationBe someone others can trust and go to for encouragement and support. www.CreativeScavengerHunts.com

  8. www.CreativeYouthIdeas.com Camp Curriculum - Whale of a Tale Bible Studies based on the book of Jonah Only. This youth camp curriculum was designed to teach the basic truths of obedience in addition to evangelism in the context of a Biblical character. The advantage of going through a book and looking at one man's story is that we see not only the teaching but the example. It becomes much more real! -> Tell me about “Whale of a Tale” www.creativeyouthideas.com/resources/order5.html

  9. www.CreativeYouthIdeas.com Creative Youth IdeasCamp Bible Study Series“Who Do You Say that I AM?” Jesus asked the disciples, "Who do others say that I am?" It was easy to answer because it required no conviction, no commitment, and no risk. But then he follows that question with another, "Who do YOU say that I am?" -> Tell me about “Who Do You Say that I AM?” www.creativeyouthideas.com/resources/whodoyousay.html

  10. www.CreativeYouthIdeas.com Creative Youth IdeasYouth Camp Bible Study Series“Fruit Of the Spirit” Live the Fruitful, Abundant Life Jesus Promised. Great for youth camps or weekly Youth Bible Study. There are 7 Primary Bible study Sessions in the series. -> Tell me about “Fruit Of the Spirit” www.creativeyouthideas.com/resources/fruitofthespirit.html

  11. www.CreativeYouthIdeas.com Camp Curriculum - The Great Adventure "The Great Adventure" is western themed Bible study series loosely based around the song of the same name by Steven Curtis Chapman. It was initially written for a large Texas Church to use for their Summer Youth Camp but has since then proven popular around the world. -> Tell me about “The Great Adventure” www.creativeyouthideas.com/resources/order12.html
