3. The Introduction • I have chosen The OC for my Teen Drama Series Assignment. The show was filmed in Newport Beach, Orange County, California in a high class neighbour hood. It is about a teen named Ryan who was having troubles with his family then he was adopted by wealthy and philanthropic Sandy and Kirsten Cohend. This show was originally showed on fox television network in the us from August 5, 2003, to February 22, 2007 witch made a total of four seasons. The show was created by Josh Schwartz, The main characters from this show are Ryan, Seth, Kirsten, sandy, Marrisa coopers, Summer Roberts, and Tayler Townsend.

4. Ryan- He is a tall well built person dark blonde hair does not have many friends in the show. First time he saw Marissa he starts to hang out with her lots. • His role in this show it too be the new person that nobody knows. Seth and Ryan have to get to know each other and become almost like brothers since they are going to be living together.

6. Seth- He is an average build not as much as Ryan, Seth is tall, Blackish brown hair He has a crush on summer Roberts. He doesn’t have many friends even though that’s where he grew up. • His Role in this show is the be the one who shows Ryan around and tell him who the people are and what kinda attitude they have. He usually is hanging out with Ryan or playing video games but then Ryan gets Summer to talk to him.

8. Marissa Coopers- She is tall and skinny Has long blonder hair, she is always talking to Ryan in the TV show when they see each other and She has a boy friend. • Her role in this TV show is to be the one that Ryan likes she is friends with summer Roberts so that is the way for Seth to meet summer. She hangs out with Summer, Ryan, and her boyfriend and lots of others she is a very popular teen in this show.

10. Teen Issues • The teen issues in this show is that Seth cant find a way to talk to summer with embarrassing himself and her not ever wanting to talk to him again. Ryan is trying to straighten himself up from his past with his family and trying to meet new friends to hang out with. Marrisa has a boyfriend that she is having a hard time with and he is getting mad at her because she is talking to Ryan and he does not want that.

11. Viewers • The first episode that we watched ( Series 1 episode 1 “Premiere”) Has 7.5 American Viewers. I think that this show has so many viewers because it shows a lot o teen drama and issues that’s teens have. It shows teens respond to each other when they disagree to one another opinion they chose. I think that most of these viewers are teens cause there is alcohol involved in the show and fighting from jealousy involved.

12. Comparison between OC and 90210 • 90210 has 4.65 million viewers for their first episode and The OC has 7.5 million viewers. I think that The OC is more popular because it has more teen issues than 90210 and more people getting involved. There is a lot more drinking involved and their was fights in it. The OC shows teens who are watching the show what drugs can effect such as your life, your family members, and friends. Ryan's Problem in the OC was that since he was on drugs was that he tells people that then they cant trust him. I like The OC better because Kristen was their to help Ryan find a new family in the end he ended up living with the Cohend’s family but the wife didn’t want him too. He ended up helping Seth with some of his problems witch was kind of cool I think Ryan was there to help Seth when he got into a fight. I think that 90210 was more friendly because when somebody got mad nobody started throwing punches they talked about their problem with their friends then went and said sorry to the person they we mad at.
