  1. Healthful Living Lesson 10 Weapon Safety Mrs. Hannah’s 2nd & 3rd Level Super Stars

  2. How to recognize what a weapon looks like. • How to avoid being around those who have them. • How to tell an adult • when you find one. We are going to talk about weapons so that you will know:

  3. Weapons include: • Guns (handguns, rifles, airsoft) • Knives or other sharp blades • Slingshots • Any other object used to hit or throw at another person, like a stick or bat used for a bad purpose

  4. Weapons are VERY dangerous! Weapons can hurt others even if they are used for play. We have to be VERY careful to not play with or around weapons.

  5. Sometimes you may want to imitate the behaviors you see on television, video games, or movies. You need to know the dangers or harm this can cause.

  6. NEVER try to imitate violence you have seen for yourself!

  7. If we are not aware of what a weapon can do, don’t go near it. Always report a weapon that you have found. If anyone is threatening you with one, or attempting to use one near you, seek help from an adult.

  8. Rules to keep everyone safe: • All weapons should be stored in a safe place out of reach from all children. • ALWAYS report any weapon you find or any person who has a weapon that is not safely out of reach. Gun Safety (Start at 1.15)

  9. End of Lesson 10 Journal Entry: Take notes and look back over them. Write about some safety rules you have learned to keep yourself and your friends safe from weapons. Thanks for another great lesson! I’m so proud of you my super smart Super Stars!
