  3. Performance assessment • It is a method of teaching and learning that involves processing and producing learning. It measures what students can do with what they know, rather than how much they know and the tasks are based on what is most essential in the curriculum and what is interesting to a student. • Every task must have performance criteria

  4. Examples of performance assessment tasks • Group projects • Essays • Experiments testing • Portfolios

  5. What does performance assessment evaluate? • Skills : • Thinking skills . • Problem solving skills. • Knowledge and process .

  6. Reasons of using Performance assessment • Documents what's student do. • Flexible tool for assessing students. • Providing valuable information of students progress. • More responsibility. • The type of the assessment • Formative , it assess ongoing tasks during the course.

  7. Affects of performance assessment on students • Emphasize writing skills. • students motivated and more engaged. • Opportunity for detailed feedback. • Students are active participant.

  12. Portfolio Assessment A student portfolio is a collection of student work. The collection should include evidence of student reflection and self-evaluation. The goal is to help student’s portfolios that represent their writing capabilities.

  13. Reasons: • Promoting student self-evaluation, reflection, and critical thinking. • Giving students the opportunity to input into the learning process • Portfolio encouraging regular work for creativity
