  2. Instructions: In your Journal, write the title and today’s date, like so: 9/16/15 OIP Practice 2. For each slide, copy the statement into your Journal and write whether it is an Observation, Inference, or Prediction. (There are 12 statements.)

  3. 1. The dog must have walked in the mud and tracked across the floor.

  4. 2. The clouds are dark grey.

  5. 3. If placed in water, the cork will float and the rock will sink.

  6. 4. It rained recently.

  7. 5. There are wet, brown marks on the floor in the shape of a dog’s paw.

  8. 6. The rock is heavier than the cork.

  9. 7. The salsa tastes hot and spicy.

  10. 8. It is going to rain soon.

  11. 9. This salsa must have jalapeno peppers in it.

  12. 10. The rock is denser than water and the cork is less dense than water.

  13. 11. More people will eat the mild salsa than the spicy salsa.

  14. 12. Mom is going to be mad at the dog when she sees the muddy floor. I tracked mud on the clean floor.

  15. Ta da! You’re done! Tomorrow in class you will find out if you got them all right. I think I did! How about you?
