REZUMATUL PROIECTULUI • Proiectul are drept obiectiv principal formarea unei echipe tinere de cercetare in domeniul materialelor pe baza de polimeri aromatici cu cicluri condensate, incadrandu-se, conform PC7 al UE, in aria tematica S&T, prioritatea nr. 4: <Nanostiinte si nanotehnologii, materiale si noi procese de productie> • Ideea de baza a proiectului este designul unor polimeri care sa posede o combinatie optima de cicluri aromatice cu caracter electronodonor si electronoacceptor in aceeasi unitate structurala a polimerului, pentru a asigura un transport eficient de sarcini electrice, si, drept urmare, un set de proprietati electronice si optoelectronice necesare unor aplicatii ulterioare in nanotehnologii • Polimerii vor fi astfel proiectati incat sa posede solubilitate si prelucrabilitate satisfacatoare, proprietati termice, fizico-mecanice, optice si electrice superioare polimerilor conventionali • Se vor selecta acei polimeri care au combinatia optima de proprietati si prelucrabilitate pentru a experimenta utilizarea lor in dispozitive electronice ca OLED-uri si OFET-uri • Termenicheie: materiale polimerice proprietati dielectrice, semiconductoare filme nanometrice polimeri inalt performanti nanotehnologii electronice

OBIECTIVE GENERALE • Initierea unor activitati de cercetare complexe avand ca scop dezvoltarea unor noi materiale polimere pentru aplicatii in nanotehnologii electronice si optoelectronice, care sa contina in lantul principal atat segmente aromatice rigide, cu cicluri condensate, cat si segmente flexibile • Ideea centrala a proiectului este descoperirea combinatiei optime de unitati aromatice sau heteroaromatice cu caracter electronodonor si electronoacceptor in aceeasi unitate structurala a polimerului, astfel incat sa se asigure un transport eficient de sarcini electrice si, ca urmare, proprietati electronice si optoelectronice semnificative pentru viitoare aplicatii de inalta performanta • Activitati de formare a resursei umane prin abordarea simultana a elementelor stiintifice cu cele de formare si specializare a resurselor umane

Anul2012 • OBIECTIVE REALIZATE • Prepararea unor filme subtiri de sine statatoare, si a unor filme foarte subtiri din poliperilenimidele sintetizate in Etapa 2, precum si studiul compozitiei si a morfologiei acestora • Studiul cristalinitatii polimerilor cu cicluri perilenimidice si a capacitatii de autoasmablare • Studiul proprietatilor lichid cristaline ale poliperilenimidelor • Studiul proprietatilor dinamo-mecanice ale filmelor de poliperilenimide • Studiul comportarii dielectrice a filmelor poliimidice • Studiul proprietatilor foto-optice ale poliimidelor cu cicluri perilenice in solutie si in stare solida (filme foarte subtiri) • Studiul proprietatilor electrochimice, iar pe baza lor stabilirea nivelelor energetice si a capacitatii de transport de electroni

Anul 2012 • OBIECTIVE REALIZATE • Sinteza si identificarea structurala a doi monomeri de tip imid-amina continand ciclul condensate naftalenice si perilenice • Sinteza si identificarea structurala a unui monomer de tip diamina continand unitati metilenice • Sinteza si identificarea structurala a trei monomeri de tip diclorura acida care contin diferite punti flexibile • Sinteza unor poliamid-naftilimide cu cicluri naftalenice • Sinteza unor polimeri cu cicluri condensate de tip imida si studiul obtinerii de fibre din acestia • Identificarea structurii polimerilor prin spectroscopie RMN, FTIR, determinarea solubilitatii, maselor moleculare si a vascozitatii. • Sustinerea si promovarea activitatilor si rezultatelor

Ianuarie - Iulie 2013 • OBIECTIVE REALIZATE • Evaluarea proprietatilor de stabilitate termica si a cristalinitatii poliamidelor cu cicluri naftilimidice • Prepararea de filme de grosimi micrometrice si de acoperiri pe diferite suporturi de grosimi nanometrice folosind solutii de polimeri in diferiti solventi si studiul morfologiei • Studiul filmelor de polimeri in privinta adezivitatii la diferite suporturi, calitatii si omogenitatii, caracterului hidrofil sau hidrofob al suprafetei, prin masurarea unghiului de contact • Evaluarea proprietatilor electrice ale poli(amid-naftilimidelor) • Masurarea proprietatilor electrochimice ale filmelor de polimeri si stabilirea nivelelor energetice HOMO si LUMO • Studiul proprietatilor foto-optice ale poli(amid-naftilimidelor) in solutie si in stare solida (filme foarte subtiri) • Elaborarea concluziilor asupra studiilor efectuate. • De asemenea, in aceasta etapa a proiectului s-a efectuat un studiu comparativ al proprietatilor tuturor polimerilor sintetizati pe parcursul derularii intregului proiect si a materialelor obtinute din acestia, iar pe baza acestui studiu s-au selectat polimerii cu cele mai bune proprietati. O parte din acestia au fost testati in dispozitive ca OFET-uri sau celule de aliniere a cristalelor lichide, iar pentru altii s-au evidentiat aplicatiile potentiale in dispozitive electronice sau optoelectronice, ca dielectrici interstrat, suporturi flexibile si transparente, materiale transportoare de electroni sau materiale emitatoare de lumina.
