  2. Saeeda’s mother had been sick for a long time. She met many doctors but none of them cured her. One day she fell critically ill and sold everything they had to meet an expert doctor. Saeeda was very worried.

  3. The expert doctor gave her costly medicines. • He also advised her to eat whatever she liked, use a bigger room with doors and windows open and sit in the sunshine for an hour everyday. But the next few days the sky was very cloudy. There was no sunshine at all .All were unhappy especially Saeeda’s mother

  4. Saeeda was worried. She spoke to the last sunrays that evening, • “Dear sister, Do come tomorrow with lots of warmth and brightness. My mother is ill and needs your help.” • The sunrays promised to come.

  5. The next morning too it was very cloudy. The sun asked them to stay at home. • ”No sir”, all the sunrays shouted.”We have given our word to Saeeda .If we don’t go they will call us liars". And the Sun agreed.

  6. They rushed to earth. Saeeda shouted • “Amma,amma!the Sun is here.” • The old lady was very happy. She soaked the sunlight and lungful of fresh air and felt better. Saeeda was very happy.

  8. 3)What did Saeeda tell the sunrays to do? • To come back the next day with more brightness and warmth. • 4)Why were the sunrays keen to go down to the earth the next day? • To keep their promise to Saeeda-if they don’t people will call them liars-and Saeeda will be unhappy.
