  1. An Alaskan Adventure An interactive story by Stephanie Cooper

  2. Once there was a dog named Prudhoe (proo-doe). Prudhoe was a very good dog who always ate his dog food and never had “accidents.” He lived in Anchorage, Alaska where it snowed all the time!

  3. Prudhoe loves to explore Alaska with his best friend Sitka the cat. Prudhoe and Sitka went on many adventures together. One time they even saw a grizzly bear!

  4. Today, Prudhoe and Sitka decided to go on an adventure! Prudhoe wanted to climb Mount McKinley but Sitka wanted to explore the Kenai (kee-nie) Peninsula. Maybe you can help settle their argument. Click on Prudhoe to climb Mount McKinley. Click on Sitka to explore the Kenai Peninsula!

  5. “This way to Mount McKinley!” shouted Prudhoe. The two friends made sure to pack everything they would need for their climb up Mount McKinley. “Did you bring anchovies?” shouted Sitka. “Anchovies?! GROSS!” replied Prudhoe in disgust.

  6. As Prudhoe and Sitka began to climb the mountain, they came across two different sets of animal tracks. They decided to follow them but they could not decide which ones to follow. You can help them! Click on the animal tracks you would like to follow!

  7. You got out of there just in time! The new tracks lead to a mountain goat! You saved Prudhoe and Sitka!

  8. Finally, Prudhoe and Sitka made it to the top of Mount McKinley! Just in time to eat dinner!

  9. THE END!(or you can click here to take Sitka’s adventure to the Kenai Peninsula!)

  10. Once Prudhoe and Sitka arrived at the Kenai Peninsula, they realized that they were starving! They found a restaurant and took a look at the menu. Can you guess what Sitka got?

  11. After a yummy lunch of King Crab legs and an Anchovy Sandwich, Prudhoe and Sitka explored the Kenai Peninsula and found a friendly group of Puffins! The Puffins told the friends to go to the fishing town called Homer!

  12. What should the boys do in Homer? Halibut fishing? Kayaking?

  13. Sitka and Prudhoe met Captain Phil at the dock and boarded his halibut fishing boat. They caught tons of fish and enjoyed the rest of the night around a big campfire!

  14. At the campfire, Prudhoe and Sitka enjoyed some nice hot s’mores! After they finished their s’mores, it was time for the boys to head back home to Anchorage! Or you can click the campfire to go on Prudhoe’s adventure up Mount McKinley!
