  2. System Overview • The Calypso 5 will replace our Calypso 4E • It is based on the Intel 865G chipset with onboard Intel Extreme Graphics 2 video, audio, Firewire, and Broadcom 4401 10/100Mbps LAN • The Calypso 5 will support P4 533 and 800MHz front side bus • This will enable us to bring Hyper-Threading down to the NetPC platform • We will release it in both the beige (Calypso 5) and black (Calypso 5B) color • Due to thermal restrictions, the Calypso 5 will max out at 3.0GHz

  3. Target Market • The target market of the Calypso 5 is the education, business, or corporate segment that requires a small and compact P4 or Celeron system • This unit is ideal for a classroom environment, where there is a limited amount of table space • The Calypso 5 is also well-suited as a point of sales (POS) system, because of its small size and legacy ports • It is also perfect for the corporate segment, where end users require a fast system and yet must fit in their limited cubicle space • Since the Calypso 5 is powered by DDR400 memory and P4 with Hyper-Threading, it makes an ideal high performance compact system

  4. System Specifications • Chassis - Calypso 5 NetPC chassis with 200W power supply - Convertible between desktop and minitower - Desktop: 12” W x 3 ¼ ” H x 13 ¾ ” D - Minitower: 3 ¼ ” W x 12 ” H x 13 ¾ ” D - Dimension of minitower does NOT include stand • Chipset / Processor Support - Intel 865G chipset (533/800MHz FSB); socket 478 - Pentium 4/2.4, 2.6, 2.8, and 3.0GHz (800FSB) – Hyper-Threading - Pentium 4/2.66, and 2.80GHz (533FSB) - Celeron/2.0, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4 and higher • Memory - 2 x 184 pins unbuffered, non-ECC DDR400 slots - 1.0GB maximum (2 x 512MB) • Slots - 2 x PCI (32 bit/33MHz) 2.2 5.0/3.3V compliant slots - Maximum of 5” for the PCI card length

  6. Intel Extreme Graphics 2 Video Notes • The onboard Intel Extreme Graphics 2 video uses Dynamic Video Memory Technology (DVMT) 2.0 to ensures the most efficient use of system memory, allowing up to 64MB of system memory to be shared among OS, applications, and graphics display • DVMT will reserve 8MB from the total system memory to be used as the video buffer; so if your total system memory is 128MB, it will be reduced to 120MB • The DVMT mitigates the need for dedicated, stand-alone memory for graphics, and ensures the most efficient system memory usage for optimal graphics and system performance • It also comes with Enhanced Intelligent Memory Management, which optimizes the memory management arbitration between the processor, system and graphics memory subsystem • Dependent on monitor/LCD, the Calypso 5 will support a maximum resolution of 1600x1200x16M colors @ 85Hz

  7. Conclusion • Calypso 5B (black) launch date is Tue 02/03/2004 • Calypso 5 (beige) launch date is TBD (we will switch over once our Calypso 4E inventory runs out; as of Tue 01/20, we still have about 350 units) • Siebel model name is “D – Premio Calypso 5 Series” • The Calypso 5 unit is ideal for the home, education, and business market segment • Fully integrated features: video, audio, and LAN, as well as a total of six USB 2.0 ports, and Firewire/IEEE1394 port • Pentium 4 (533 and 800FSB) w/ Hyper-Threading support and DDR400 memory (up to 1.0GB) for optimal performance in a compact chassis • Support for legacy ports: 1 x serial COM port and 1 x parallel LPT port • Flexible video output: standard VGA, S-video TV out, and DVI for digital LCD panels
