  2. Opioid Dosing Guidelines • An interagency guideline developed by DSHS, DOH, HCA, L&I, Corrections, in collaboration with pain specialists • Purpose: assist primary care providers to prescribe in a safe and effective manner • Applies only to chronic non-cancer pain • Only 11 pages

  3. Opioid Dosing Guidelines -5 key points • In general, the total daily dose of opioid should not exceed 120 mg of oral morphine equivalents • If considering going above 120mg, obtain a pain management consultation • Assess function regularly, for example using SF-36, Oswestry, QuickDash
