Regularprogram • 4 categories: • 1) National events (1 K$-7.5 K$) • 2) International invitation events (1 K$-12.5 K$) • 3) International events non eligible in theFunds (5 K$-25 K$) • 4) Sport for Allevents (1 K$-7.5 K$) • Categories 1, 2, 3 open only to PSOs • Category 4 open to PSOsandNon-profitorganizations • 2009-2010: 533 000 $

  5. Developmentof sport andphysicalactivityFund (DSPAF) • Created in 2006 under MP Jean-Marc Fournier • % of thetobaccotax (formerly for O. Stadium) • Twoprograms : 1) Infrastructures, 2) Events • 30 M$ / yruntil 2020 : • 24 M$ Infrastructures (spentso far: 263,2 M$/365 M$) • 6 M$ Events

  6. OBJECTIVE OF THE DSPAF Foster thedevelopmentof a sporting culture amongQuebeckers by attracting to Québec international sport eventsthatwill :

  8. FOLLOW-UP TO THE LAUNCH OF THE DSPAF • Registerofbid / organizationprojects for international sport events • Multiyearreference plan for biddingandorganizing international sport events in Québec (> 2010)

  9. CONTENT OF THE PROGRAM Two parts : 1) Support for bid for events 2) Support for theorganization of events

  10. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 1. CLIENTELE • Municipal bodies • Educational institutions • Non profit organizations • Grouping of theseorganizations

  11. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 2. ELIGIBLE EVENTS Support for bids : • Large-scalenon-recurringmultisportevents (ex. : OG/PG, PanAm, Commonwealth, Universiade) • Large-scalesingle-sportevents (ex. : WorldChampionship, FIFA WorldCup, etc.)

  12. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA 2. ELIGIBLE EVENTS Support for theorganization : • Projectseligible for assistance to bid for an event • Canada-widemultisportevents (Canada Games) or Team Canada olympicselection (ex. swimming, diving) • Non-recurring international single-sportevents of moderate size (Panam championship, Americas zone qualification) • International multisporteventsofmoderatesize (SpecialOlympics, Jeux de la Francophonie, Winter ArcticGames, NAIG) • Major recurringeventsthatmeet certain specificcriteria (World Cup, IFs firsttierevents)

  13. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE • May notexceed 35 % of theeligiblecosts • The total amountof $ provided by QC maynotexceed 50 %oftheeligiblecosts • Anyprojectover 5 M$ must beassociatedwith assistance fromthefederalgovernment • No deadline for application / Date of reception
