  3. Basic Differences Charity- responds - acts Justice- asks WHY? Responds and acts Private - individual Immediate Direct Aid Deals with SYMPTOMS Public- Group Long Term Change structures/institution Deals with ROOT CAUSES of injustice

Example – SA Food Bank Charity Justice Individuals donate food Immediate hunger ends Direct service Daisy Care- pets Mobil Pantry Distributes Food Community Garden-Self-sufficient-long term food supply -Education provided Dignity and Life Community Kitchen-Train unemployed- fair wage Catalyst Catering- Solidarity- community involvement- employment Farm Bill 2012- Advocate -Rights
