Introductions 2. Brief overview by Chairperson 3. Introduction of Roger Levi 4. Presentation 5. Questions by the audience • Presentation by; • Roger Levi • of Intel’s – • Global Reverse Logistics • Data Services Manager • Titled: • BETTER, FASTER RETURNS PROCESSING AND DATA COLLECTION

  2. RLA SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS WEBINAR #1 (Coach / Paul Rupnow) Rules of the presentation to make it a great experience for all! • The Software Committees Core Mission is to identify opportunities to define standards, flows and capability that aids in the reverse logistics business process. • There are No boundaries here - We are all here to help the presenter and share with the committee our first hand experiences or concept ideas. • Please keep to the topic and please spend no more than 5 minutes in sharing your experience unless the Presenter allows further discussion, No Rambling rule applies!

  3. RLA SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS WEBINAR #2 Presenter Roger Levi Global Reverse Logistics Intel Corporation: • Roger Levi is the Global Reverse Logistics Data Services Manager for Intel Corporation. He has held multiple positions within Intel since joining in 1977. Current role is to collect, aggregate and provide reporting/analytical solutions for all of the naturally occurring reverse logistics data from the reverse logistics returns programs and processes. Today the ability to collect that data rapidly, accurately and cost effectively is becoming increasingly difficult, especially for bulk returns for credit. I am currently exploring concepts in and around ‘design and manufacture for Reverse Logistics Operations” that can be leveraged to offset the daunting challenge described above.

  4. RLA SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS WEBINAR # 3 Intel Corporation Headquartered in Santa Clara, Calif., Intel today has more than 100,000 employees in 63 countries and serves customers in more than 120 countries. Intel today designs and manufactures a variety of essential technologies, including microprocessors and chipsets and the additional hardware, software, and related services that together serve as the foundation for many of the world’s computing devices. Intel has been in business since July 18, 1968.

  5. RLA SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS WEBINAR I - Communication Starter: • “Do you or have you faced this similar challenge in your reverse logistics operations and what approaches did you take to remedy?” • “How long have you been utilizing your solution(s) and what were any emerging epiphanies or new challenges?”

  6. RLA SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS WEBINAR II - Current Situation: Specifically with bulk return for credit, we currently do not have an automated way of collecting the pertinent product information without the use of extensive resources, which require significant time to perform the activity manually… • A manual process has its own issues that can result in data accuracy and/or completeness. These questionable results (magnitude and/or impact) can result in; the need to clear these discrepancies, delay in disposition, inventory disruption and need to rework. • As existing business grows in new markets and new markets and/or opportunities are exercised, it is anticipated that the current situation will continue to degrade to the point that it becomes an impediment to operational effectiveness and efficiencies and cannot be solely addressed by increasing personnel.

  7. RLA SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS WEBINAR III -Options:Identify and understand the available technology (hardware and software) solutions that can be implemented to cost effectively remedy the “current situation.” Transform highly manual reverse logistic business process into a highly automated integrated solution that can be easily institutionalized worldwide at all reverse logistic locations … • Utilize proven technology that is minimally disruptive to the existing manufacturing and /or supply chain processes that have a history of proven success at other companies. • Understand the limitations that the proposed solutions were not able to resolve or emerged after operational implementation.

  8. RLA SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS WEBINAR IV - How do I quantify the ROI opportunities to go after first, to show success…?  • Can a limited pilot(s) be implemented that can demonstrate the overall effectiveness of the proposed solution? What is the duration and number of trials needed to conclusively vet the results? • Can the proposed solution be implemented opportunistically, or does that only add additional confusion to the overall returns receiving process? Thus reducing the maximum ROI opportunity. • How was this addressed by other businesses (i.e. learning curve)? What were the hurdles that needed to be eliminated before realizing success?

  9. RLA SOFTWARE SOLUTIONS WEBINAR V - How do I explain that this is something right for the company and customer service…? • What has been your company experienced that demonstrated enhanced customer service or satisfaction? What were the measures? Has it been sustainable? • Was the P&L affected in a positive manner as defined by the NPV? Did it occur as planned / anticipated or did something unexpected occur? • Were there any unplanned benefits and/or detriments from the implementation? • Questions??????
