  3. V. 22-27, Jesus comes to the disciples by walking on the water. V. 28-30, Peter starts walking on the water but comes short of the goal. V. 31-33, Jesus saves Peter, chastises him, calms the wind and is hailed as the Son of God. Matthew 14:22-33, peter walked on water

  4. Not because he didn’t trust that Jesus had the power. V. 28 Not because he didn’t have the desire. V. 29 Not because he was unable. Cf. Philippians 4:13 Why did peter sink? Matthew 14:30 But when he saw that the windwas boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”
